SoCal Engine Swap: April 4-5. Requesting backup!

Alrighty guys...

I need help! Here's the dilly: I have a 1975 245, which has a B20 and M40. I also have a 1994 940 Turbo parts car, which has a B230FT and AW71.

The weekend of April 4-5, I need to strip the 940 for all the parts I need off it, and then mount the B230F/AW71 in the 240. That's it.

Don't want to get the car running...just need to get the engine and trans in the car, so I can scrap the 940.

To add to the shens, I have to do this in an alley of an apartment building. Also, I have no hoist. :-P If you can bring one, please post up. Otherwise, I will try to secure one before Saturday.

I live in Anaheim Hills, but the cars are located in Huntington Beach and this is where I am forced to do the swap.

I can't explain in words how pissed off I am.

Went over to where the 940 was parked; HBPD impounded it. Tags were good. There's a catch-all vehicle code that allows an officer to tow and impound a car if he has "any reason to believe it is abandoned", and they do not have to leave a note OR contact the owner first. Complete bull****.

It's gonna cost $300 to get it back, I don't have it.

So...swap is permanently and indefinitely canceled. Donor car is gone.

It could have been that they saw the seats missing, and the HUGE amount of damage to the side. Kinda lame that they did that, but not too far outside the law. Not like the car had a small amount of damage and a full interior. It looked undriveable, they looked inside, and determined the car was not driveable, maybe saw it sitting in the same spot for a few days and then towed it.

Tell the Kids what, Free food, a place to hang for part of a day, and possibly help me get my Poly bushings done at my house in Pomona. How about that on Saturday if anyone cares.

I could also use help getting my 245 running on the stock engine (looks like it's gonna be a while now)...it's a B20 that needs some basic troubleshooting.

Also, I want to gut it out. Seats (except driver), carpet, insulation, door cards, stereo...everything. Eventually, the dash will come off to remove things behind it. But I'll wait on that.

Giving very serious consideration to military, so the car needs to get running in case I have to drive it somewhere to park it for an extended period of time.

At least with an AA you will be eligible for Officer training. Does Saturday seem like a good day to come out. Or does the 245 need to be towed to my house. We have the technology to tow. at least, we think we do.
