If its a true Canadian GLT it will have a B23E. Possibly with a K-cam

well the large black rocker pannel stripes says that its been through some harsh Canadian winters, probly had some major rot issues and then was fixed with some sketchy body work. The winter tires only on the front (im guessing) gives you an idea how little the owner probably invests for maintainance.
Its just someones winter beater so I wouldn't say it worth very much
gets points for E-codes though.

Yeah I never see 240's around here, it's weird. When I lived on the west coast they were everywhere. Although a few months ago I did see a really really nice looking late 70's red 242 in Hamilton, old guy driving it.
That car might be a typical "good from afar, but far from good" sort of deal, and depending on your goals for it, it might be perfect for ya. Looks like an '82 or '83.

unusual looking 240!!
looks like its been rust repaired a few times on the door bottoms. what does the underneath look like?? had an old frien back in sweden with a 240 that folded in half!! not kidding, it was just his yard car at the shop this car reminds me of that one.
you are prolly better off finding a decent 242t on the us westcoast.

I got a price form the owner, he wants $2000, i basically walked away laughin...
Im happy with my 244, and common enough that I dont have to hunt to hard for body parts

For that kind of money you can seriously buy a $500 west coast car and get it shipped here for $1000 and still come out ahead. And the car will be PERFECT, body wise anyways.

Lot's of 240's in kingston, I've only seen one 242. $2000 is a ton for that car. As the aspirator stated, it's 1,000 to ship a car from B.C., and the body will be immaculate, maybe not the interior(....max). When I lived on the eastcoast (st.andrews), volvo's were few and far between, save the newer "ford" ones, and beat 240's were going for that price, if you could find them that is.

St.Andrews? Dang, seems like more than a few people are from within 50 miles of here.

I'm guessing he means the one in Canada.
BC volvos are painfully expensive, buying a car from Washington, Oregon, or even California is where it's at. I just "imported" a car across the border from Washington to here in Ontario, it was cake! So long as it's older than 15 years old it's pretty darn easy. Cost me about $110 in border fees and duty and stuff, no biggie.

Ohh, it is silly, and yeah, I meant the one in New Brunswick, didn't know there was one in Florida. Learn something everyday
