I saw a red 745SE w/the kit in Portland that looked awesome. Soo needless to say I want one. So, I am woundering two things:
1. how much does the beast cost $2000 comes to mind new...
2. Did they change for a 940 vs a 740?
Here are the differences I observe between 940 and 740:
1.Different headlights both in us and european markets.
2. Different front turn signals.
3. Different assorted metal work around the grille.
In theory everything below the headlights/grille should be shared between 740 and 940. The problem is that the 940 front end might look funny with the 740 airflow kit, since the headlights are angled a little more than with a 740. The 940 with E-code lights must have different front turn signals since the light angle appears more upright. I probably won't really be in the market for one of these, because I can think of alot of things to save $2000 for ahead of this. I know Micheal has a 90 or 91 accessories catalog, does anyone know if there is a 94 940 listing, though any year 940 would probably do the trick so long as it has the fogs next to the grille like mine. The rear bumper looks so much better than stock on 7/9 cars. Anyone know for sure if the front turn signals on E-code cars are diffferent than US spec?

I heard there was a white one with the kit in Washington State for sale as well?!

My 91 Accessory catalogue says its for both 740/940 - they are no longer available (doesn't mean a NOS one can't be found though), and the price was $2200. (in 1991). I saw one on ebay about a year ago - a dealer had NOS sides and rear only for this....it went for $400 I believe.

I recall seeing 2 different Volvo body 'Aero' kits for the 700/900 series cars. The first one being very M3 like for the '83-'87 760 & '84-'89 740. This kit uses the E36 M3 style side skirts and the E30 M3 style rear valance. The other kit came on the 740 SE and has the integrated front spoiler w/ fog lamps, E30 M3 style side skirts, and integrated rear bumper/valance. Personally I would go with the early kits side skirts and rear valance with the later stock front spoiler. You can take the lower lip of the later 700/900 series spoilers and attach another one inverted to deepen the front spoiler (ala Juha's white 740). Take a look through the T'bricks gallery to see examples of the parts I described above.

P.S. These parts are Volvo parts, not modified BMW M parts. I only use the M3 as a reference since most auto enthusiasts are very familiar with the BMW M3's.

I'm building a small front spoiler on my SE's front bumper.

hopefully I'll get it done soon.

Sorry fro the lack of replies. I have suspension gremlins to sort out that are unlikely to be under 1k, so this is going to have to sit on the back burner. I have seen both kinds though David. I agree the early side skirts and the nice rear bumper are what I really want. The stock front bumper is alright on the 940's. The side skirts and a body color bumper are what I am after. I don't really like the old skool front spoiler on 740s, but some of the old black 740s with it were awesome. After looking at Juha's car I noticed he did what you said by fixing the front spoiler and design with 940 headlights. I like the kit like on the red 745SE I saw, it looked like a slightly squarer 850R. At the moment I am more into function over form, but I am getting a nervious tick and glance when I see where someone sliced my rear valence for a trailer hitch. Thanks for the heads up. How hard would it be to get my hands on a rear lip spoiler found on the V90 and some other 7/9xx cars? Thanks again guys!

Drool, I am going to persue some euro headlamps to the death after seeing that pic. Really an amazing kit for a "factory" replacement.

I've got a Swedish 940 brochure that shows a mild factory kit for the 940 that I've never seen anywhere else. It consists of a lower air dam extension that replaced the snap-on plastic bottom skirt a forward-swept dam, side skirts with that little 'twist' contour, and a rear dam extension. It looks really good without screaming LOOK AT ME! I'd like to put it on the wife's car, but there are other things standing in line for those dollars.

If I can ever get my scanner to work again, I'll post a pic.

I can scan some pics from an old (1993) Volvo Catalogue about 7/900 bodykits where I think this one is included. There's also some Polaris 17" Wheels included ;)

e-mail me if I forgets about it!!

Its only in primer. There is one other volvo here with this kit in the detroit area, and a later model wagon with the later kit [liek that red 945 that was on ebay].

All,

Emery has an early 740 kit on his car. This is a 4 piece kit from Volvo. I'm putting one on my V-8 wagon as well, but don't have pictures yet.

Yikes thats one mean 740!!

All it needs I dear say is some E-codes and a black paint job, in my opinion.
