I'm planning on getting a wideband. To save some sheckles I wanted to use an O2 sensor that I have available to me. Are the different wideband gauges sensor specific or can they use any wideband sensor?

Thing is, I have sensors available to me from work, (we toss them actually, brand new) but don't know if they're wideband or not. It's a Denso 4 wire. Does anyone have a cross reference available or know of a site that has it? Only info I can find says it's a "super class"

You need a 5 wire. The 4th wire is just a ground wire. PM me if you want a Bosch Wideband for ~50$. I bought two because I thought I lost them, but I can't return them anymore.

can you use the wideband sensor in the place of the stock sensor?

Yes, if you can get a nb signal out of your wb controller and route that to the ecu. Best way is just to weld a new bung for wb sensor.

Start there, follw links regarding sensor use and plugs etc for more info, they cover use of sensors by most widebands.

The LSU4.2 sensors used by Innovate and a lot of other widebands out there is actually a VW part, P/N 021-906-262-B.

New beetle if I am not mistaken. I bought my wideband when I was building my VW. Go with lm1 or something from that company.
