North of Portland IPD Caravan

Who all coming from north of Portland want to caravan down?

- Where are you at, what time are you planning on leaving?

So far I know of Poik, Cappy, and Weezil who are all heading down. I'm probably going to roll carless so I can take more photos & video and basically not worry about my hoopties - anybody got a free shotgun seat they can offer?

gotboost, drturbo & I will be leaving Friday a.m. early. Stopping by my folks' place near Olympia & picking up wheels/tires + trailer, then headed down after that. Prolly be on I-5 between Oly & PDX between 1 - 5 p.m.

I was planning on heading down saturday morning so I dont have to pay for a hotel room, but I'm not opposed to splitting a room with others.

As of right now, I'll be riding solo, all my friends think I'm nuts cause I like my 240.

I saw a pair of real hot chicks this evening in a C70, with the top down... coincidence? I think not. Looks like Jcrump84 and I will be rolling in his non volvo, unless something miraculous happens tomorrow (stranger things have been known to happen). Keepin my fingers crossed!

But,I'm hopeing to leave kinds early- like 8 or 9am.

Maybe I just won't though - If I don't leave till 11 or noon there's a better chance I'll get door panels/and or windshield done....

Jcrump and I will be ready to leave North Seattle (Udist. area) around 1:30 or later. Also, FYI I just booked a room at the Rodeway Inn (about a block from ipd)... from priceline.com, it ended up being like 55 bucks total with fees etc... so if anybody wants to crash in our room, feel free (and pitching in a couple dollars wouldn't hurt either)... I'm officially throwing in the towel on Vurbo for the show, but may have picked up another Volvo in the mean time (details pending)...

I guess it's time to find out how the B20 holds up buzzing down I-5 in 4th gear for 3 hours. I still haven't decided if I'll try to get outa here in the late afternoon tomorrow or wait till first thing Saturday morning. Either way it appears that most of you will be ahead of me so I'll just have to scan for WA/BC plates once I arrive.
This will be my first garage sale trip. What's the parking like for the general public? I had though about trying to get my car in the show but it was uncertain whether I'd be able to go and/or hang out from begining till end. If I show up early enough how close to the event can I get parking? I would like to show off the car a little.:roll:

If you can do it tom'w afternoon, that'd be best, since you won't be overly tired for the trip home. With respect to parking, along the street, people do tend to come and go. The earlier you get there, the better the parking, of course. There's also a parking lot across the street from iPd. Left half is the swap meet, right half is parking. I'll be parked in a shady spot, ideally, since my car has that black leather interior, which'll be roasting otherwise.

I will be there for the morning - maybe until 1:00 then off to check out some parks in Portland - will be leaving Portland sometime in the evening, probably just before it gets dark. No doubt I will be a bit wasted as the drive down will be around 2am on Saturday. Can't stay overnight this year so if I go have to force myself to sleep earlier on Friday. You know your driving an older vehicle when you bring spare parts on a trip!
