Why would you paint it before you hot tank it and have the MS work done to it? you do know all of that will destroy the paint.
and the paint on the pulleys will wear off really fast along with make some noise and smell a bit funny
Nice color combo tho

yea I know it was just trying to see what it would all look like. I'm only having the block tanked. everything els is done. I only used 1 ratle can of paint. no big waist.

I think it looks rockin'. Nice attention to detail.
But yeah, you could have waited on the paint...
Oh, and your car is still ****ing gross looking. Also, is that sharpie on the valve cover?
tommysvolvotime
06-11-2009, 01:32 PM
no it's not sharpie. the valve cover is a moc up as well. I have the finished one in a bag in a box with no black around the letters.

So, if one doesn't like someone, they're automatically gay and enjoy sucking penis? How juvenile.

no every one IS entitled to their oppinion, how ever if I were to see your car and I thought it was a pile, I would't throw it in your face and make myself look like a jackass in the process. I'd be like UMM...ok and that's that.

The red is sort of random and looks out of place... IMO 2 color motors look better than 3...
Are you going to clear coat all the bare metal?

Looks nice, good work. I wouldnt have gone with blue though.
The paint on the pully will probably wear off.
But good luck!

just two tone? I guess your right the red lift tabs are kinda out there. and yes I'm clearing the bare metle parts. the pulleys will peal abit but not to much. I'm going with the blue and silver cause that's the paint scheam for the car.

The pulleys should be fine, I painted mine. Its just gonna wear off on the part contacting the belt surface. That blue looks almost annodized in the photos. You tell all these calk suckers to F off if they got nothin good to say. Rock on.

Yep. On all my painted pulleys and gears that's really the only area where it wears off, and also where you torque the bolts.

tommysvolvotime
06-12-2009, 04:16 PM
haha buoyancy.. no no the foam is just for the shape I'm going to put a release agent on top of it and then over lay the fiber glass then pull it off when cured. Use it as a plug/mold. eventualy I'll try making it out of CF when I've perfected the molds. however that's a LONG LONG way off.

wich blue? the Blue on the block is Ford Dark blue from Duplicolor, and on the pulleys I used Duplicolors Metalcast 2 stage paint. It comes with a silver base and then a color paint. It dose look good though hugh.
