View Full Version : gt35r turbo on bondo header

i got a chance to mount it up to figure out spacing requirements. not sure how the bondo header was jigged but it didn't fit in my car without hitting the frame rail. i waited too damn long for this thing to care anymore so i notched the frame rail. the other option would have been to shim the motor mount but then the compressor housing would contact the hood. i got a feed line to it and a return line, without leaks, ftmfw. car runs, i can put it outside and make more progress later.

Yeah, the T5's shred in Mustangs once they do a decent amount of work on the motors, same as the M46/47's in Volvo's.

It's #1 that hits I assume?
I tweaked RSI's original/intended design because I did not like #1 at all.
Here's a comparison, I bet their initial design cleared. IMHO you're better off with the notched framerail - but yeah that's my fault. ;-)

Nice! It's funny that all of us 16V kids are having similar problems.

if you didn't notch the framerail you won't go fast.

The car is also a couple grams lighter now. But nice work! Can't wait to see everything up and running!

also- it's technically an RSI header. ;-)
also- make sure you brace it or it will crack. ;-)
Looks like better hotside clearance than Cam's wastegated GT30 hotside.
Any shots with the wastegate on?

it is the #1 runner but it's cool, all fits well now.

Filter, please.
i need some sort of piping because a filter won't just fit on without hitting the radiator.

Oh yeah. This is looking good. I hope this thing puts the v8 turbo to shame. Not sure that it will happen, but you have the same number of valves in each car. whatever that means.

I wonder what that gt35 is gonna do...
I think I'll stick to my $175 holsets.

there's a little less than an inch, if it has to make speed holes, so be it.

Yeah it does -- still pretty close, but looks to have more room than I do.
