View Full Version : Painting wheels.

Mods, feel free to move to proper place.
SOOO, I have 4 hydras on the red sedan. 3 of which are original paint. 1 is a replacement wheel that was painted a different silver color.
Whats the best way to get them all to match? Scuff em up somehow and paint with wheel paint? Can I get the factory color back? And how do I get the center plastic caps to match?
I was thinking gun metal if I had to paint em all. Otherwise if I can get factory wheel paint in a rattle can, maybe I'd just do the one mismatched wheel.
Whats the best way to get the old pain down to a manageable surface?

You can read through that, there's some painting involved in it. As for the Caps, you can paint them then order some stickers to lay on top.

I guess you want to look for something similar to this, just check the sizing.

Now the other question. What color would look best against red?

I think Anthracite would look the best, but that's just me.

The correct sticker does pop up on occasion, you just have to look for it.
Powdercoat. Bengal silver+clear. I could have them stripped and coated for <$400.
