i'm trying to look for a new manifold to put onto my 740. i keep searching and all i come up with are 240 manifolds.. the bolt patterns look similar but i guess my question is... will the 240 manifold fit onto my 740 without modification or will i have to resort to a custom built manifold.

same exact bolt patern, unless you have a b234

Are we talking about intake or exhaust manifolds? What motor are we talking about? Everything pretty much works with everything but what are you trying to accomplish?

haha my bad.. yeah... the motor is the b230ft i wanted to go t3 and i have an adapter plate so i can go straight t3 with the stock exhaust manifold but i'm deciding against that route now... so the exhaust manifold's are the same bolt pattern?

Yes, you are looking for a 90+ exhaust manifold. The stock flange is a T3 bolt pattern, the only downer is that it has a step in it. Your local friendly machine shop should be able for mill that off for $20~30.

Also use a T3 gasket to port out the manifold opening to better match the turbo and flow much better.
