Howdy folks!
I have a decision to make.
Do I +T my current motor, which runs GREAT and I love my high CR (30~ mpg)
Or do I slap in a lower CR turbo motor?
Or, do I put the turbo head on?
My only concern is the lower CR may detriment my 30mpg on crappy gas. I no wanty!
What say you Tbricksas?

A turbo head will not lower your cr, so why would you swap just the head?

Which is easier to you? The good outweighs the bad in both cases imho.

Seems to me you have already made up your mind. You just want positive reinforcement. If you are planning on having a decent amount of hp but still want almost n/a economy then +T is what you want.
If you want to make the most hp you can then use a turbo engine. But from your post a +T is more like what you are wanting to do. Positively +T. :)

I could swap in the engine, or just the turbo head from the engine.\\

Engine swaps aren't much of a pickle for me.

Hehe... How would a turbomotor make more HP? Just curious.
Yes, I was am leaning towards a +t :)

Why would u wanna swap the turbo head?
Turbomotor can generally run more boost...
it all depends how fast you wanna go. I'd say do a nice +t with ms

It's if you want to make the most hp you can before detonation. With either engine setup you can make a lot of hp. But a turbo engine will give you more room for more boost before you hit detonation threshold. So, in other words it might not blow up as fast if you aren't careful. Lol.

Engine swaps aren't much of a pickle for me.
If you had a "dressed" turbo motor sitting on a stand, it would be easier than doing all the plumbing/boltons involved in a +T.

I'd take the higher cr + larger sodium valves. Best of both worlds!

Hehe yeah. I only plan on running 7-10 psi. The truck doesn't weigh as much at all. It'll move!

It's not dressed per se, It needs to be stripped down.

Sodium exhaust valves in the turbo aren't larger than the solid valves in the non-turbo heads. The valves are interchangable.

Ah. I did not know that. I thought the valves in the turbo head were bigger! Thanks for the clarification!

What year is the motor? If the n/a motor has 13mm rods go for the +T. I +T'd my car with the skinny rods but I don't think I should run much more boost. (currently 10psi with absolutely no knock at all. I did the ezk conversion which you also need to do if it applies to you. Make sure you get bigger injector's etc. basically just don't cut any corners and you will be good to go with the +T. In my opnion the higher compression makes for more torque and fun as well.
+T ...saves the work of having to pull the engine out (which always comes with extra problems). you can do all the +T stuff with the engine in the car and results are just as good

+t it. Just do it right and you won't kill the engine.

I lean strongly to +t for the economy sake. Just be warned, without decent tuning, the +T will be less forgiving to bad tuning. And you will lose a mpg or two with a turbo on that motor.
