Some of you may have missed that Jonathan's ITB 242 caught on fire at the RSI track day since it was only posted in the event thread. Thought I'd update it a bit since we have a race tomorrow. :omg:

From the event thread:

"Jonathan's ITB 242 caught on fire after a battery power wire rubbed on a bracket through it's loom, wire insulation and then shorted out on the bracket. Engine compartment will need to be completely redone.

Wow, glad the fire didn't catch the fuel return, that would have been extremely bad.

Old volvo, not on fire, $500?

Damn. The worst part is, the after still looks better than half the engine bays on here.

How'd you mount the FPR to the rail?

JERIC

looks like you need a fire system and a mastercut off switch or did it rub through before the masterswitch, fires in racecars suck, been there very scary.

That's not as bad as I pictured when I started reading the thread. It sucks it burned but that's not nearly as bad as it could have been.

Nice work getting it back out on the track.

Love that engine bay, simple and clean. Bummer on it catching on fire but good to see it's already on it's way to recovery. Nice work.
