View Full Version : I have this idea for my 244

I want to put an 850R spoiler on my 87 244, paint it John Deere green, paint the belt line trim John Deere yellow, and run JD yellow 15" 740 steelies with chrome 240 centercaps.

Thoughts?

Anybody brave enough to shop that up on a 244?

Funny enough, I was born in MN, and am a vikes fan. I just come from a JD family.

You know, the car probably will be JD Green next spring, the yellow wheels and trim I'm thinking are too much though.

I just like that shade of green

Yeah, you're right, it doesn't look too good.

go for it. i dont see why not if you get the actuall john deere green and put the john deere decals on the back.
i knew a guy who painted his 142 ferguson red and put ferguson badges on it (scandinavian tractor brand)

could you imagine a 240 painted like a black tophat with a white stripe?

it could totally look like a tophat...

ferguson? is that the same as a massey/ferguson?

Ferguson and Massey-Harris merged in the 50s(?) to create Massey Ferguson. The original Fergusons were grey. And Ferguson is from England, not Scandinavia!

If you do this you're gonna get hated on by about 90% of the forum.
Its a volvo, not a tractor. Green and yellow have never looked good next to eachother.

my father would beg to differ. he constantly bickers about my constant feeling of "volvo love" and calls the 242 "the tractor." its def faster than a tractor though! :-P

pinguin. your paint schemes strategically cover stripped paint until the little bit of rocker panel rust can be fixed, and the car can get painted one color

I still like the blue and yellow. Don't care if I'm the only one, haha.

As for the John Deere look, well, if it sounds like a tractor, and it's square like a tractor...

If you did a good job of it and made it low and fast at the same time, that would be good.

yeaaaa.. that works. So if your transform your 240 into a hot brazilian chick.. then it'll be all good.

Hey, the worst that could happen is you don't like the car and then all you have to do is park it alongside a road in Green Bay with a for sale sign in it and, boom, you sell it for twice the book value. I knew a guy once who couldn't sell his old Suburban down in Tennessee and then he painted it Volunteer orange and it sold in a day. True story!

I know of a 144 that's john deere green with yellow steelies and it looks great...I think you should keep the yellow and spoiler you have, just aint the blue part john deere green and get steelies (or just those alloys) the exact same yellow as your stripe
