So what's up with this. I just had a major strut mount fail and I can't drive since the strut top is now hitting the bottom of my hood. If anyone's going to be at Hawkins Point Friday, tell me when and I'll come in the V70. Try to make it before 3. The oldest girl is selling Girl Scout Cookies at K Mart in GB at 3 and I need to be around to wrangle the other 2 kids. Besides, my wife will need her car back. FYI, 80 cases of cookies will fit in a V70 with the seat down.

95 north to exit 41A-B, keep right when the ramp splits, come off the ramp and stay in the right lane and you'll come to a light and make a right. That puts you on Washington Blvd (Rt 1). Pass Turbo Performance Center on the right (Porsches in the window), over the crest, then down hill and make a left into the junkyard parking lot. Should be easy to spot.

Then on to Hawkins Pt...back to 95 North, take 695 east and follow til you see signs for "last exit before toll" which is for Hawkins Point Road. Get off at the exit, make a right at a stop sign, then the first right at a light onto Hawkins Pt Rd. Go til the end of the median and take an immediate left into the parking lot at the end of the median in the center of Hawkins Pt Rd. Enjoy the paved parking lot.

I wouldn't bother with the other two yards. Mt. Airy is far and Erdman is gross with no parking and bad streets (condition of the roads, I mean). I haven't been there in a while, though.

Hawkins Point isn't bad. I was there Sunday to find a P2 trans cooler line but the one P2 there was missing entire front end :grrr: If you guys go there this weekend, keep an eye out. Just squeeze 2 green plastic tabs and the trans cooler line disconnects from radiator port. Then get your knife out and cut it off the trans at the rubber part of the line. $15 to you from me for that stub.

i need to try hawkins point. not much of interest at jessup, but they have 2/7/9 series, so that's good. i got a bunch of little things i can use, like the b-pillar trim panel that ghreg SMASHED at mangohick. got a trunk popper kit from an 83 GL, some nice taillight covers from the same 244 GL, and a very nice b23 plastic timing belt cover.

I was at Erdman Ave CR not last weekend but the one before, they must have had about 8x 740/940 turbos. I think 2-3 240's and some more NA 7 and 9 series. Mostly newer stuff all LH2.4 I think...all turbo stuff intact too

I had stuff to do too, so I didn't go. I've noticed the '90 has been cranking a little slow lately. The single alt belt on the '90 has been doing a burnout with heavy electrical load, and with the cold temps lately, I run the blower fan a lot more. Last night on the way home from work, the dash lights were dim and the SRS light was coming on. The tach started to flicker and things got even dimmer when I hit the brakes. Today I replaced the belts on the '92 and used the old alt belts on the '90. It was going well until the alt tensioner bolt snapped on the '90 as I was almost finished, so I had to weld the remainder of the broken bolt to the adjuster and use a nut instead. Belts are tensioned and it's charging again...

...junkyard next weekend...maybe.

Ok it'll take me about an hour to get from Frederick to Jessup. I sadly don't have a volvo out here and will be rockin the 'rolla (at least it has a 5 speed lol). Again it also sorta depends on if there is freezing rain or not. If it's icy i will probably be stuck here. If that's the case what are you all doing sunday?

Any idea how much an lh2.4 harness and all the sensors would be??? I need my 244 back.

sensors are usually 3-5ea, but sometimes they go uncharged. leave them clipped to the harness and you might get away with a couple of $8-9 misc. charges. I'd guess 20-30, possibly less, but it depends how many sensors and which ones.

Saw the 7 series clutch line i think in Mt Airy. Was an 85 NA car. My 85 turbo has a hyd clutch so i'd assume the NA car does too (though i've heard some 7s got cable clutches)

I put the intercooler in the trunk so I won't forget it.

90 is a reliable turd. make me an offer based on what you see tomorrow and I might let it go. problem is, I want to at least pull some parts before selling it, like the snow tires, radio (have stock), rear speaker deck (it's blue, have stock), rear shocks (have boge to replace them with), IPD front bar (have stock), front springs (have stock), and maybe the bilstein inserts (have stock). so we could do all that at DB one night and I could sell the car for <1000.

A neighbor might be GIVING me a really nice '91 244...still gotta go talk to him about it. It's maroon...ugh...but it's shiny and has NEW headlights (because it was totaled when rear ending another vehicle). I think it's been totaled twice, but it looks like new when I drive by it.

Yes.

Hawkins point was productive. I found a nice n/a 940 radiator from a '94, and Ian found a non-rusty 740 Turbo exhaust. I also found a Volvo brand differential gasket, new in package, in the same 740 Turbo. Those aren't cheap, but from Ray's, they are free.
