round 2 of the custom grill. I got the hood line dialed in. but tried a smaller mesh and still working on the fog light openings. I still lke the factory gt grill better. but you can't hold it against me for trying. http://www.aardvarkcycles.com/media/rill6.jpg

I admire the time and effort put into it, but I definitely think the original gt grill is better...But I would like to see where this is going if there are more attempts :-D

get bigger mesh, i have seen this done before and it looks quite good if done right.
EDIT: bigger as in smaller holes and more surrond, and i would leave it crome or plain before painting black, i have only seen it as plain metal and that looked really good

Hmmn, might be too late but what if you used the OE grill with two round aux lights? The continuity of big/small round might be pleasing.

Are you the bicycle guy? If so, I race rigid single speed XC and enduro.

Are you planning on continuing it all the way to the corner signals? Where it goes from solid plastic to very opaque mesh is somewhat clashing. Also, flat black everything behind the grill.
And, IMHO, you need a volvo slash. Fab something up with a volvo logo, it's a necessity!
I'm liking the idea, if you can make it a bit cleaner, I think it would be quite original and pretty damn cool.

Yes I am the bike guy. and anyone who is crazy enough to race single speed has my respect. I have one my self as well as a fixed road bike, but not good enough to race.
