Very nice Volvo pickup

240 utes always look funny. Never seen one that can intergrate the rear window without making it look hideous. Still its pretty cool

Looks a lot like the pair of wagon>ute conversions that were done in south australia by one particular old man who used to own a volvo shop.

Only 240 i'd buy again would be a pick up or a 242....

Would look better if the license plate area was filled...

There have been about 6 to 8 240 utes built in australia. The last one was up in rockhampton at a Volvo wercker. It was made from a 77 245L. The owner sold it to another wrecker in brisbane they used it as a work car untill it met it demise under a large crane.

Homage to laziness, is more like it.
That's easily one of the better 240-utes I've seen, but that 'extra' number plate recess is a travesty.

Weird how a 240 wagon has quite a bit of rear space for a wagon of its size, but a 240 ute has a lousy tray for its size...

That tray is about the size of a Proton Jumbuck, despite the Volvo being a significantly larger vehicle.

There was one built in Melbourne to, maybe 3, one has a 305 chev in it and came from Volvsaab and is now at Volrek, as is the other one, however they built the other one from a 78 wagon with high k's on it then, and it's had about 4 different motors in it and has an 86> front and rear on it.

Yeah, the guys at Volrek said they'd rather start with a 7 series if they made another wagon. Way more space as a ute.
