Well, I finally got a 244. After hanging out with Kris aka Krisverde all the time, I needed one. I had one stipulation, being that it had to have the M46. Well, I found a decent one up in Scottsdale, and $500 later, my E30 has a garage buddy. I bought the E30 recently, as a project, but I just can't afford the parts for it. So I'm even considering selling that BMW to fund the 244... *evil chin rub*
So before I start rambling, I'll get on with the pictures.

Mods so far include a B cam (thanks Kris) and a new thermostat (thanks Mike aka thelostartof)
Mods to come include IPD springs/sways, Hydras, possibly a new front end, and (coming this week) an all black interior from a '92... That's going to be 1st, I cant stand the current combo. The mods come after I fix the issues, obviously.
Thanks!!

I don't think I'm going to boost it. If I get some sort of catastrophic engine failure, and I need to either rebuild/swap a new engine, I'll consider it. For now, it's low and slow. Well slow. It's not low yet.

if your boosting it, why didnt you try and find a 90+ 240? they have the larger rods, its easier to swap to manual than pull rods. my 240+t was once auto.

Tearing the guts out today. I still need to grab the immaculate dashboard at PnP tomorrow, but otherwise I got an entire MINT black '92 interior for... get this... $66. We were at PnP yesterday (Kris and myself), but stayed way past closing.... So we get to the exit, thinking it was still open. She said we will have to come back tomorrow for the stuff. The lady was super cool, and just said give us 70-80. All I had was $66, the rest of my cash were $100's. So she said, "alright, thats fine."

Impact wrench, angle grinder with a cut off wheel.
Cutting them on the car is.... well its interesting. I have done it 3 times now and im doing it for the forth time not long from now. Its not bad, you just need to be careful.
Basically what you do is you lift the car up take the tires off and undo the top strut nut with the impact gun, if you dont have an impact chances are the strut will just spin... Anyways when you are taking the nut off i recommend you put a jack under the brake rotor once you have the nut off let the jack down. Then find where you want to cut the spring and cut it, the spring is still under some pressure so when it cuts through it will pop and the pressure will be relieved so keep your fingers completely out of the way.
Also when using the angle grinder cut the spring a 1/4 at a time, go back and forth between sides or just cut a little bit and let it cool. Heating the spring up to much will result in some changes in the spring rate.
have fun dude! you will love the handling improvements and the better looks!

I don't recommend cutting them on the car. It takes just an extra 15-29min. to remove the springs, and you won't have the risk of broken fingers or bits of cut-off wheel flung at your face.

ive done both, i took the springs off my 244, and two days ago did the springs on my wagon while on the car. i didnt even use a compressor. i just cut where i wanted then wiggle it about a little and cut the useless bit into pieces and it came out fine. it worked great.
that said, it also scared the sh!t out of me when i cut through the spring and the tension was released. it went SPROING!!! and i jumed back....with a grinder in my hand.... i very much recommend taking the springs all the way off. not only because its safer, but it gives you a really great excuse to replace the struts

I put station wagon coil springs in front on my Chevelle SS 396, without spring compressors. I used a 7-8 ft prybar that used to a DShaft on early car.. It slipped, spring jumped out, missed my head by 2 inches and didn't land till 35 feet away. At least.

I actually really like the Hydras, dude! Unlike most people, hehe.
I do plan on boosting it, but I seem to change my mind every day about it. I would ideally like to get some decent N/A power (lol)

I like the Hydras too. I'm usually not a big fan of them at all.
But, with it lowered and without the centre caps - it looks pretty good.
Wonder what they'd look like either white or dark grey....

I should probably tell y'all what happened last night with the car! Me, being a n00b, cut the springs pretty short. When I was putting the car back together, I didn't put the spring in the seat the correct way. I was driving it last night, and hit a pretty epic bump. Pretty much what happened, was that the spring came out of the seat, fell down a coil or so, so the end of the coil(which is sharp because I cut it) rubbed against the tire, causing a blowout. It tore the tire up nicely. It was, how can I put this... "exciting". Thankfully, jao was nice enough to come down from his house(@10pm) to help me out and get that coil situated. We checked the other side, and the same thing happened with the coil, but no damage, it just came out of place. So we got everything back in working order, mounted the steelie, and we were on our way. While working on the car, we realized that those little copper brake lines that go into the rear of the caliper was damaged, and my ball joint was pretty bad, he suggested that I not drive it unless completely needed. So it sits in the garage until Wednesday until I can get the thing fixed.
Wow, wall of text ftl.
Anyways, on to pix

We should put air ride on the thing so you can drag flaps while cruising and ride comfy on bumpy roads. But the stance we got is awesome, just don't pick up on fat girls like Kris. :-P
Oh and I see you're rockin' the euro plate again, very nice, I need one.

Dude air ride would be epic. I just think i'd save that for a more "deserving" car.. this is kind of hoodride status, lol

How many coils did you cut?
When you go above 2, you need to take care in re-situating the coils.
Car looks good though, and I usually hate 2 tone and Hydras.

Thanks, man. I cut 4 in front:omg:
I didn't know about re-situating them, but damn, I do now, after that little incident the other day.

Yeah I was afraid I had done too many. If it's drivable, though, I may just stick with it.

Wouldn't it be tough to find a non-Regina 90+ with an M46?
You can find LH2.4 90+ with M47-II :e-shrug: Or is the point that you would prefer it to be M46.

i never have seen a regina 240 ever. but every 90+ 240 i have seen was eather 3.1 or 2.4 all the 3.1 i have seen were manual.
Both of my auto 1993 240s have LH 2.4 and I read somewhere that LH 3.1 was only for later manual 240s.
