Can you be more specific?
The S90's were the last year of the 960's and usually have all the comfort features. They are a bit of a PITA to work on compared to the 240's, 940's, etc. If cost is a factor, a 240 or 7/940 is a better option IMO for performance upgrades.

What Adam said.
The S/V90's are essentially the same as the '95+ 960's, just with a different name. They are sort of neither fish nor fowl with FWD offset wheels and basically an 850-type suspension system paired with a RWD platform.
Do a search for user name "the poi" and check out what he has done with his 960 for ideas.

S90's can be very slick looking rides. Will take a bunch of work to make them scoot though. Also, i hear you might as well sell your first born...since that will be easier for you than trying to lower that car b/c of the rear suspension setup...it doesn't have springs!

what do people do to get over the rear suspension problem with the later 960's or do they just transfer the spring set up from the eairler cars

I dont think its even that easy...the multi-link rear on a later 960 & the S90 has nivomat rear self leveling shocks and a sort of leaf spring that joins both rear arms. There are some "lower" nivomat shocks and some softer spring, but IIRC, it costs in the neighborhood of $2000-$2500 to lower the car w/ volvo's "roadhandeling" kit.

Not all of the 960's have Nivomats. Mine doesn't. The way to lower one is to remove the factory fiberglass leaf spring and go with coil overs. That's what The Poi did I believe.

They aren't the world's most reliable cars...electrically at least (radiators explode too). However, it is a nice ride. I am thinkin I'm gonna tarbow mine.
BTW...only comes in autotragic (in the US), but it is a strong autotragic compared to the other ones Volvo used.

the poi had nivo mats so he got rid of those andput the coilovers in. The spring in the nivo cars are softer so the coilovers keep it from going to low.

I re-read that post and The Poi left the factory leaf in and replaced the Nivomats with coil overs, leaving the factory leaf in place.

Yeah...that's the plan. I'm going to try and pioneer running T6 parts from the S80s. We'll see how it goes.

right now i'm confused because I seen 740/760 with S70 body parts looking like a modern car, 960/s90 body swaps. so now when i look at some pics of modded volvo i don't know what car there are?

Yeah it can get confusing. There are a few people that have put S/V90 parts on the 740, 760, 780, 940, and 960. People have also used 850/S70 parts on there 240.
If if you read though there post, it usually tells what car they started with.
