Hope you guys enjoy this, I am always inspired by some of the talented metalworkers here.I made this from an aluminum plate a while ago. It's been on the car for over a year, and works well. It definitely makes a difference in throttle response, the throttle opens a decent amount more for the same amount of pressure on the gas. I don't have any pics of the adapter before I mounted it for porting.

Here it is after the rough cuts with a hole saw

I was able to increase the size of the intake by 7 mm, any more and the sealing surface is getting thin, lol.

After porting, trimming the lower gasket

The difference is noticeable, haha.

The throttle stop arm is from the 740tb, cut down for a cleaner look. The other is the 960 arm, these are stacked on each other.

The TPS now faces the other way, which makes the TPS harness not fit. The brake booster nipple is there. I "temporarily" solved this by cutting the plug off and running wires to it. Now the brake booster nipple is plugged off, the line tapped in elsewhere, so I will rewire the factory plug back on. I'll post new pics after I finish with my new engine.

I don't have a good pic of mine, but I just bolted the n/a 850 TB (same thing as a 960 TB AFAIK) straight to the 240 manifold 2 bolts fit as is, I drilled and tapped a 3rd, left the 4th off.

I needed more clearance for my 16V head.

Looks good, and I bet the price was right.

If you haven't done so already, remove the screws from the throttle plate and loctite them.

Thanks! Ya the price was definitely right, and it was fun to do.

The 850 tb's I have open the opposite way than the 960. I have 3 of them here, it seemed like a bigger pain in the ass. Cool to know that works though. Thats a helluva kinked pipe though.

it's a tight elbow ATP thinger.

for lack-of-space applications.

It's new home.

That is what it is. Even then, I still had to carefully bend over a brake line.

Mine fits well. I can fit a 3" aluminum bend there. 740>240 for space I guess.

Definitely. There are a few extra inches behind the motor, and at least a couple extra on the sides.

For extra lulz, I don't really think you can put a 16V motor in a 240 with the trans attached. Not enough room between the firewall and the crossmember.

Fixed the pictures finally, lol.

2turbotoys,,is the space there for 240(b230ft) enough with 960TB+pipe??

done, doable, possible. I did it with mine!

hermas, I don't know if it will fit will fit in a 240 but i think you could do it if you used the proper size aluminum plate. my adapter with the throttle body installed is the same height as a factory throttle body. The pipe will be the trickier part, the picture above (John MC's) shows the problem/solution

My issue was because the 8V manifold was bolted to a 16V head, which puts it further over.

The 960 TB is shorter by a fair amount, which is why I bothered using it.

2turbotoys,do you have the accurate CAD data with the adapter?

Sorry no. I made it by hand. I used the 740 and 940 tb gaskets as a template then used a drill, a drill press, carbide burrs, and a cutoff wheel to shape it. I made one from wood first to see how it fit. Mine uses 2 of the original diameter studs and a bolt to mount the tb, so 960 tb needs to have the appropriate holes drilled larger.
