Alright guys, were setting up another meet. This time its going to be a cruise to Mt Diablo. Theres going to be 2, possibly 3 routes.

Heres the info:

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5TH
MEET AT ROCK CITY AT 2PM
*bring two ways and a sack lunch*

2 routes, 2 groups at the same time that both meet in the middle around 2pm

Sac Crew - doug242ti will be the contact/lead.
From the Sac area along the river road over the Antioch bridge, (which turns into the freeway on the otherside of the bridge) then take any of a couple of exits (i suggest Railroad Ave. cause its the easiest) that will take you to Kirker pass rd. then over the hill, (that road will turn in to Ygnaico Valley Rd.) take a left onto Oak Grove Rd. which will turn into N. Gate Rd, and then after a couple of mnutes your at "Rock City" on Mt. Diablo.....

doug - please develop a meet up location with specifics. i believe you'll need to leave sac area by around noon - please set a specific time. and a refuel location (with a time) if needed and then ppl might meet up with u there too

San Jose Crew - CONTACT/LEAD NEEDED
basically from the SJ area to Danville, where you'll take the Diablo exit and then up the hill to "Rock City". currently it's all freeway - unless someone wants to map out a nicer route.

In "Rock City" we could take pics, chill and eat food that everyone brought with them, like a "potluck" those interested could even take a hike while we're all there....there are some kick ass views from Mt. Diablo

Who's intrested? Im sure theres enough intrest to get a 707 meet up posted. This should be another pretty large event!

That would be fine :D

Were inviting really just about anyone. I WILL be following the posted speed limits at all times, especially along the river. There are lots of sunday drivers on the river and it can be quite windy.

Hey, I'm down for that if my brick is in running condition by the time the 5th rolls around. I live right next to Mt. Diablo, but I want to cruise with one group or the other, so I'll have to make that decision sooner or later. Anybody want to try to convince me to go to one side or the other? lol

I was kinda leaning towards sactown anyway. 1, I really want to see your 240, and 2, I have a friend that goes to college up there, and I wouldn't mind seeing her again sometime. So, when you get details, hit me up. If you want my aim/yahoo/messenger, send me a private message on here.

This sounds like fun, I should be in for this. ;-)

Oh, and for those who want more info: Mt. Diablo (http://www.ccdemo.info/MtDiablo/MtDiablo.html)

Traffic laws are strictly enforced.
These roads are shared by bicyclists, walkers, and wildlife. The speed limit within the park is 25 mph.I guess no crazy drift-offs in the park eh? :-P

Heh, yeah. The rangers in Mt. Diablo park are pretty anal about the laws there, so much so that if you're in the park after a certain time, you CAN NOT leave, happened to me a couple years back, ended up camping there. They shouldn't bother us as long as we don't speed or anything.

So...how many people are wanting to go?

I live with a view of Mt. Diablo - almost gotta climb onto my roof :-) - This will be the last days of my poor dented car as I'm selling her and buying another t-brick car - without dents.
Sounds like fun.

Hey, do you have an address for that shell station? I'm gonna need to print up a map, as I do not know how to reach this laguna blvd.

Hank Scorpio

Where are you coming from? Its easy. If your heading south towards Sacramento, go past SAC, about 20 minutes later you'll come up on Laguna BLVD in Elk Grove. Theres only one way you can get off the freeway and the shell station is right there.

I don't know if I'll be able to bring my 242, the electric fan burned up the relay for it and doesn't work now, so my car overheats pretty damn bad. I think my car is ****ed...anybody got a 242 they want to give me? *glances over at doug* lol

I'll be buring the midnight oil on mine to get it ready. If I ain't at the Shell station by 12:15, head out without me. :-(

What's wrong with your car? I'm not much of a mechanic, but maybe I could help you work on your car for a while on Saturday.

What's wrong with your car? I'm not much of a mechanic, but maybe I could help you work on your car for a while on Saturday.Lots of little things, the biggest problem is the owner/driver (me). lol My ambition to get stuff done on the car lately has been lacking. I've got an e-fan conversion to finish, finish wiring up my e-codes and GT foglamps, replace the fuel accumulator (leaking), replace my wheel bearings & brakes all around (grinding), swap in my 242GT/R-Sport front springs & cut the wagon rear spings, install my mbc and dial it in, wire up the A/F guage, install the sender for my oil temp guage, fix my exhaust leak, swap on the 530 head & B230 intake, the list goes on...

I have most all of the parts I need to get the stuff done, and the car IS driveable, I just don't trust it for a cruise that far the way it sits right now, especially with the grinding from the R/F wheel bearings and the fuel leak. Like I said, I'll burn the midnight oil on her, if she gets to a point that I'm comfortable with it, I cruise her. If not, no biggie. I'll catch the next one. I do appreciate the offer though... :)

it's a scan of the park brochure if anyone is interested, there is a map of the park on it too.

Is there a fee to get in?

mjkspyder_one

Yes, there is a fee to get in (at least there was the last time I was there), it's around $8-10, I don't remember.

TO be honest guys, I think hardly anyone is going to show up for this. The SJ dudes have completely flaked, we may go to Walnut creek, get coffee/lunch and come home.

I'll be @ the shell station tomorrow, if no one show's by 11:45 Im going home lol.

(dont show :-P I feel lazy)
