I can't make it this time around, finances too tight right now. Maybe next year. :-(

Maybe? Where are the details? I've yet to go to any kind of Volvo meet, so I want to go to as many as I can before I move out of state.

I've been to Clear Lake plenty of times and it takes at least 2.5 hours to get to Clear Lake. So from San Francisco to Konocti Harbor I would imaging it would take a little bit more than 3 hours, not the 2 hours they suggest. The drive from the bay area to Clear Lake isn't too bad though, some nice curvy mountain roads you can drive through to get there (after St. Helena and before Middletown if I remember correctly). It's like 7 miles over the hills, but takes most people 30 minutes. From the Davis/Sac area it would take 2 hours.

Im debating it. If I go, I'll probably just go for the day.

Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be going. For those that do go, be sure to bring bug repelling sprays of some sort. Unless you like mosquitos sucking your blood, though I don't think west niles have made it up there yet...

Totally forgot about that... gotta think about it. Being fairly close, I'll try my hardest to go this year. Man, if I had a boat, i'd make it a boating weekend out of it... wakeboarding and stuff! Clear lake is a pretty sweet lake for that stuff!

I'll be there (bringing the 245). Bring that bucket out, Doug!

hehehee ... I dont know man. I had some grief w/ the rules at the last show.

Is there a normal modified class and a concourse? I have a hard time going to any show that still requires the spare, tool kit and owners manual in the modified class.

What rules?

I'm debating going to this thing too... kinda pricey for the entire weekend, especially if you factor in the cost of fuel and meals.

BTW, I think between you and me, we've broken just about every modified and concours class rule there is.

Come out for at least a Day Doug, I just did a job up there... Now I know the back way from there to my house :badboy:

You got to come just to drive that mountain pass with me. Lets work something out, Split a room for one night, then back to my house for some Bertone action

At the oylmpia show I lost points in judging because I didn't have:

the spare
oem tool kit
owners manual

I DID have a spare in my trailer, a full craftsman tool kit and the bently bible, apparently those aren't right.

for a stock class absolutely those should be there, but in a fu ck ing modified class they shouldn't be even considered.

Toby, T and I were talking about it today, I think thats EXACTLY what we plan to do. Holy, Theresa and I may split a room friday and sat' night

I'm gonna try and make it for the show. But yeah, it's pricey. Hey Toby, it's only like an hour and half or so from here, right?

Since I can see the lights of Konocti Harbor Resort from my house, I will be going for sure. There are several ways to get into Lake County, and most of them are very scenic. By that time of year, mosquitoes should already be gone as we would have had several frosts by then. The fall colors here can be spectacular. Rain would be my biggest concern as the wet season here can start by then. The times mentioned are correct as far as how long it takes to get here. SF 2 1/2, Sac 2, Santa Rosa 1 1/2hrs. Anyone who would like some area info can PM me and I will help out if I can.

That's a bunch of BS. So Peter and myself, who fall into the modified class, wouldn't even place because we don't have a spare in the car???

How much money are we talking here? I have to be a VCOA member, right? That poker run sounds like a blast though, I'd love to go.

the weekend package is $95 per person, saturday only is $65, the events only (no meals) is $25, and if its paid after sept.10 add an additional $25. Registration at the door is $200 for the entire meet, $150 for saturday only, and $25 for just the event

VCOA membership is NOT required to participate in a national show.

speed GT is in monterey right? I'm leaning towards that. they have an awesome new shark habitat at the aquarium. I hear the 17mile drive it fantastic too!
