Think our '93 with 22k was $13,000 in '99, my '92 with 16k was around $15000 in '93 when we bought it. Its anyones best guess, I say it goes for 20k.

Nice car. To bad about the transmission.

I'm sure whomever could afford this car can afford to have a manual transmission properly installed....

or are you trying to say that the car would be yours right now if a manual? :)

Why does the vehicle history report list no odometer readings for all of the (20 plus) emissions checks and other events where the mileage should have been entered? The ONLY reading was the first one at 39 miles. And based on no readings, it gives a verdict of "no indication of an odometer rollback or tampering was found?" Huh?

smokeyfan1000
03-05-2011, 05:57 PM
From 93-2011 it only had 3 emissions tests? What is that title corrected/excluded/exempt mean? Did this car sit unlicensed for a while ?

Pretty amazing that someone actually took great care of it , & carefully stored a 93 240. just think what used 240s would be like if everyone took care of cars like this guy.

Just think, at 24,000 miles on it, one could buy it, and drive it at least 20 years, which means it would be running in 2031.

If I was a rich man, I would not heisitate to spend over 30k for it. The reality is that you could not buy anything better for the price. I wonder if their are any 240 turbos out there like this?

I'll tell ya what. For what the guy is asking for that 240, you'd be very, very hard pressed to find a car that would last s long for twice the money. Word.

just think if it was a '93 245 wagon with standard trans... it would go for even more.

It is a nicer car than that white '90 with 18K miles that sold for 16K-ish (can't recall) only about 6 months ago.

No. I'm saying that, as nice as the car is, it would be even better if it had a manual. Chances are the person that buys it won't want a manual.

It all comes down to this, old people don't drive stick. Stickshifts are usually for commuters who want better gas mileage.

a company in holland called Schmidt has '92 245 with only 120 miles on it...

http://www.schmidt-gemert.nl/collectie/?av=34&ps=178&c=Volvo_1992_240_GL_190_KM_!!!!!!

ive seen it in real life on the VKB last year. its like stepping in a time machine.. its from their private collection but if you offered them $40K i think youd have a chance of getting it..

they also have a 262C with 59 miles...

Yesp, all the serious bidders will wait until the last 2 minutes. This is just the obvious bargain territory it's marching through now.

I'm sticking with my $17,500 prediction. This thing is ridiculously minty, and there is apparently a not insignificant crowd out there that would desperately want to be able to go into a Volvo dealer and lay down $35K on a brand new 240, but since they can't squabbling over these time capsule 240's is the next best thing (and far cheaper).

Fixed.

They're all older, they think 2 minutes is cutting it close.

But yeah, anything I've bought from eBay over the last 5 years (other than BIN crap) used a sniper service that wings it in with 1 sec to go.
