I've got a suede Sparco racing wheel, it's a dream on the 242GT, good size too.

Grant adapter, Grant wheel. Pretty nice, but I wish it was a Momo Monte Carlo.

A later 240 might have a smaller wheel? How big is the one you have?

I have a Grant Adapter + Wheel and it's quite nice, but the horn buttons on the rim are way too easy to press when backing out of parking spots, takes getting used to. (Then again, I have that problem with 90+ airbag wheels, but I press it with my arm when I look over my shoulder)

what model is it and where did you get the boss?

Another aussie!

Where abouts are you from?
As I see it you have 2 options:

1) Get one of the smaller diameter wheels that fit without a boss kit. I Actually have one for sale if you are interested. PM me if you are. These wheels are kinda rare, so you can pay a lot for them at volvo parts suppliers but IMO they are well worth it. This is the CHEAPEST, and easiest option.

2) Get a Momo adapter, and then any aftermarket wheel with the momo bolt pattern. But to avoid it looking stupid you should try and get one that looks like it belongs, i.e, similar to a Volvo R-Sport wheel. If you wanted an R-Sport wheel in good condition they go for upwards of $300... A boss kit is around $80 and can be bought at Autobarn.

Here is a picture of my current setup: Its a Momo Cavallino which I somehow got lucky on Ebay and got it for cheap

Lots of non factory options and a boss kit to suit isnt that hard to come by.
If you're chasing a volvo wheel though, you could go with one from an '89 240 as some/most '89s have smaller factory steering wheels.

As my first post on TB, I happy to quote a post that includes a photo of a Nardi wheel. That's exactly what I hope to have in my car in the near future.

The model is Momo Typ M 38 (KBA70056) i bought it second hand with the volvo logo installed. Had to buy a new Momo hub for my 240 because it came with a 850 hub.

Apparently Momo hubs (especially for a 240) are very hard to get here, mine came from the UK after a local tuning shop spend 3 months trying to find one.

As mentioned once before, the later 240 steering wheels are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller. I removed the stock wheel from my 1981 244 and put on a wheel from an 88-89ish car. 10 bucks from the junkyard, and it is not too far off from a Momo as far as size is concerned. If money is a concern, you're much better spending the money elsewhere on the car and going with a later 240 wheel.

I can get you a photo of it by friday arvo. They are a big improvement to the boat captains wheel they come with. It was actually the first thing I ever did to my car :)

No...not leather. That's just a standard late model wheel. Plentiful in the junkyards.
