unsure about hydras but I know my old coronda got shinny when I blasted off the coating... But then they rust. You could get it dipped in chrome

Hydras are aluminum....aluminum does not rust...they will polish up if you are willing to do the work..

But still they do oxidize..

If theyre in good shape I would use aircraft paint stripper, start to sand them down with 240 or 320 on the machine and work up to 500 1000 2000 and start polishing.
Otherwise have them soda blasted if they have been damaged and oxidized already

Im sure they will look great, but I'm a sucker for chrome and I know most TB'ers arent

you can polish them, but why would you want to? make an ugly wheel stand out even more?

You could polish them, but what to do about the center caps that are made of plastic. Then you have to worry about all the small area around the lug nuts hidden by the cap.

polish everything, and flat black the centrecaps.

I'd strongly suggest polishing the wheels, then bolt them on the car, then tig weld a piece of aluminum over the center, then sand/polish the center, and it will look AWESOME until you have to drill out the center to remove the wheel. Up until that point, Hydras will be cool.

Actually, the same could be said for other wheels, too: Dracos, Omegas, Desones...

And best theft deterrent EVAR!

Plastic can be chrome plated too. And there are companies that do it.
