This would probably be better placed in showroom...

The first one that comes to mind is Myle's '79

And check out the 240 Inspiration (http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=172878) thread. Plenty of stuff in there

i put 850r sideskirts on my 245. you have to butcher the top where it mounts(i just screwed them into the bottom sheetmetal in the door sill), and you have to shorten them by about 4 inches, but i really like them. i'm gonna redo the bumpers but i think i'll leave the sideskirts and just clean up the part where i spliced them.

I want to hang a pair of those balls that you see dangling from trailer hitches on my 240. Maybe some in the front. Maybe one or two in the back. Gotta have a set on the side mirrors.

Damn. That would add at least 20 horsepower.

Aside from the Bross from spoiler and the one Kenny made, I dont really think so.

I made my own front splitter for mine (though its more functional than pretty) and have the Group A boot spoiler and thats really it.

you know it doesn't run because of how clean that driveway is. no running 240 ever leaves a driveway like that.

ok, so here's my 83 245 with 850r bumpers and sideskirts. a lot of trimming, fitting, trimming, fitting, etc. so no there will not be a guide. the front bumper fit pretty well but it sits too low(can't lower the front).

http://www.pbase.com/jwill244pbas/image/133668568.jpg

i had to butcher the side skirts since the door sills are completely different, and i had to shorten them, but i like the end result(need to sand the splice some more).

http://www.pbase.com/jwill244pbas/image/133668571.jpg

the rear 850r sedan bumper is a lot wider than a 245 rear, and it's a lot shorter from the wheel to the back so i had to make it more narrow, and tried to extend the part to the wheel(didn't come out well). but it did cover the butt cheeks(which i will be chopping off)

http://www.pbase.com/jwill244pbas/image/133668569.jpg

i will be putting 86+ bumpers on, and maybe modify the stock front air dam. i want to do something to the rear, i'll have to see what the stock valence under the bumper looks like

I do a "weird sight, weird smell test" when I park my car: If I don't smell anything weird and nothing is leaking, I'm either out of coolant or out of oil.

I unbolted the front fender locating bracket (the one underneath the mud flap that holds that part of the fender in close to the body. That lets you pop the front fenders out a fair bit and widen the front guards. Good for tyre coverage and it stops the 240 from having such stupidly flat sides. Still need to do the towery style rear guards by cutting/jacking the fender out from the body.

There's also the Grant bodykit, seen here is just the front airdam on Jesse's (Jao) 244. IIRC he has the whole kit (front, sideskirts, rear) and was working on making copies. Dunno whatever happened with that though.
http://www.pbase.com/jaodesign/image/119880517.jpg

I have this front airdam piece as well, still new in the box. No you can't have it. I'd love to get ahold of the rest of the kit, if Jesse ever starts selling the repop pieces.

Always wondered what kind of air dam mine had on the front of it -- it's the Grant piece above. I cut the lower lip off for more ground clearance though. I used landscaping edging (black plastic) and a few pop rivets to hide the unsightly spot welded flange underneath the rocker panel. 'Spose a deeper cut could serve as a sort of side skirt although I did it just for cosmetics.

This should fall into this category. Pics are of an '80 Bertone that we are doing a Viper themed pro-touring build on. It hasn't gotten much attention since we started it about 8 months ago. We also have a 1984 Mercedes 380SL that we've been converting to an LS1. This one will get more attention when the Benz is done. Obviously the roof has been cut off. We've also shaved the entire car: all trim, door handles, locks, fuel door, rocker molding. We took a set of 240 front fenders and fitted them as rear fenders to have a higher wheel arch (Major PITA). The rear is also mini-tubbed now to fit a decent size wheel/tire combo. That's about it for now. We're thinking of doing a supercharged LS1 with a T56, possibly turbocharged, Dana 44 IRS.

I had been thinking about a couple of small changes for my 242, since i've had bodywork to do to repair the late-night parking lot hit and run from last summer.
it's in the garage now, and the project is not done yet, though i'll have some pics up in a project thread when i get it complete and out of the garage.

this is a poor representation, being sortof quick, but one of the bigger mods i thought would look good is the removal of the lower edge seam along with the buttcheeks (and generally shaving the car's trim somewhat) as depicted here:

http://forums.turbobricks.com/picture.php?albumid=172&pictureid=1545

i used the late-model bumpers and trim/airdam thingy, missing from the depiction, but i think it makes a big difference seeing it on there

as compared with this, which i don't particularly like:

http://forums.turbobricks.com/picture.php?albumid=172&pictureid=1544

i guess i think the subtle changes on a 240 can make a big difference, too much just looks cheap imo.

When considering an air dam, remember that the purpose is to stop air from getting under the car, thus increasing front downforce. This means that it should be flat and preferably should have a small splitter at the bottom, something like this:

http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll214/WatsonFab/misc%20car/P5010640.jpg

What you don't want is an "air dam" that rolls under the front of the car. These types are not really air dams because don't stop the air flow from getting under the front of the car, and in fact could actually force more air under the car which could cause the front to lift at speed. So what you don't want is something like this:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/__p8_bHFZ0vQ/S8o-Ww3-wSI/AAAAAAAAF3w/d5sRJS3RHgI/s912/DSCF2739.jpg

Also, you should also add side skirts right up to the end of the bodywork to funnel the underbody air flow out to the rear. This traps the air flow under the car and increases its velocity which adds to the overall downforce on the car, which increases tire grip.

Those are good examples for an air dam and side skirts. I don't have side skirts on my RX7 yet (that's on my "to do" list), but here's a shot of the air dam. The bumper sits out a bit, just as it would on a 240, but that doesn't affect the efficacy.

Not much effect just doing grocery runs, show 'n shines and such like, but they start work at 60+ mph and up. So if you're gonna run track days or even go racing, then you need to look at getting some aero that works.
