I just got back into town and am collecting shots (we also had 3 GoPro cameras onboard), so I hope to post more up later. But here are a few to whet your appetite.

More about the car in the "RallyBrick 242R Rally Car" build thread, though I haven't put new pics there yet.

Truth in race car advertising

This was a very fast rally (120+ mph), so not as much sideways action as I normally like.

cool for rally, but the paint scheme invokes the impulse to blast you out of the sky with 20mm cannons.

Already in and out, knocking on your back door with eight 50's, Gerry! :)

...knocking on your back door...

That hardly seem appropriate in a family forum :-P:lol:

And forget about those references to Wood, Parts, or Fickle, half-nekkid broads!

I was originally going to put "on your 6" but then I realized the poster was speaking from a particularly ground-based perspective and may not fully appreciate the parlance of the air.

Lets see some video!

I'm dying to see it, too! My codriver has it and is supposedly getting a hard drive tonight and hopefully shipping it to me tomorrow. "Soon" is all I can say.

Here -- we're at 1:33, although this is not a particularly dynamic shot and it's downhill on tarmac. First time through this stage and we'd never seen or recce'd the road before.

Some footage of the car passing a radio checkpoint. And yes, in the one going from left to right, we downshift in the turn from 5th to 4th (in a T5Z). Gotta love volunteer HAM radio guys who show up with ladders and video cameras.

They're medium size MP4's 'cause I don't like teh Youtubes (12-14 MB ea).

howd the car hold up?

We killed the right rear shock, which led to an excursion late in the day. The tires were dead by the end -- I will definitely buy new tires prior to the next rally. Both torque arm bushings were ovalled out by the end -- I need to get some heim-joint torque arms from YoshiFab. Other than that, it was great. The two wonks in the car were probably rustier than the car, itself.

And THANK YOU for all the help! Without HonestJhon, we would have really been scrambling toward the end.

Found the nose art girl here:

http://pinupsplus.com/ Had a tough time deciding.

The military badges here:

And had the invasion stripes and a few little bits made at a local vinyl shop. Unfortunately, I didn't realize they were inverted (should be 3 whites and 2 blacks) until they were already on the car.
