First thing I have to do is replace one of the rack boots to stop the oil leak

The intermediate plans for it is
Replace all the fluids
Give it a tune up
clean the whole fuel system
Get it runing after it has been sitting for 6 years
Fit my gemini wheels of the 17 inch TSW wheels

Future plans
manual conversion
6 panel taillights conversion with filler panel
power windows and central locking
tinted windows
lower it and big sway bars

Why? Left handed shifting FTL...

Anyway, I've always wondered why the metric 240 speedometers have 50km/h highlighted...

Same here, 50km/h is standard speed in cities etc

Not in 1982. Euro thing it think. Standard speed limit in Aus was 60 km/h. I do not think there was a slower one.

Nice car, weird rust is that from the inside of the panel?
The car has been "Ming"ed tar rust proofing, seemed to help a couple of cars I had. But maybe the proofing trapped a bit of moisture in there.

Hi

The rust is on the outside of the paint/panel the first thing I checked was if any of the rust was on the inside.

The only rust like that is mostly only in the rear upper boot face and around the vents at the bottom of the rear glass. The car sat in a garage 300 meters from the coast all it life. It most likely from where the salt has blown in and sat on the rear part of the car

That's how fast you drive in Canada in almost all urban areas if there's no posted speed limit, and there's lots of areas with 50 posted. 50 is the most common speed (off of big roads) by far.

There's an initiative right now slowing a bunch of neighbourhoods in Edmonton to 40 km/h, the pilot program is going over with drivers like a lead balloon but the community leagues and whatnot like it. It keeps traffic out of residential areas and in theory it's a lot harder to run over children. (A vehicle driving at 50 vs 40 has 56% more energy to dissipate in order to stop. On slippery winter roads and boneheads driving heavy SUVs on all-season tires, this is a fairly big advantage.)

I want a rhd 240

Why would you want a RHD 240 all the RHD parts cause issue when turboing the cars. Even the Volvo factory was to chicken to offer a RHD turbo car in the 200 series

Hi

I have started on the surface rust. Dug the factory filler out from the RH drip rail. I have replaced the rack boot that was leaking.

Started cleaning out the fuel system. I have drained nealy 40lt of stale 6 year old fuel out of the tank. I am going to drop the tank out soon and clean that out and replace the small length of fuel line above the in tank pump clean the fuel lines and replace the filter.

I have the lowering spring and the 17 inch wheels down here now I will be fitting the springs soon

I will be painting the chrome exterior trim to copy the GLE/turbo look

I am doing this while working 50 to 60hr weeks at work
