I'm in. I'm sure Steve O would be willing to haul my BBQ in his van to wherever we end up too. Speaking of which, there's some nice parks around Sac, how about an actual outdoor meet, like at Goethe Park? It'll get us out of the industrial district at least. :-P
Or we could try the Mt. Diablo spot agian...

Park sounds good. Davis was a cool show, lots of grass and it was a nice day too! We don't have any good parks around here ( Homosexuals cruise the park in search of you know what ) so I try to avoid them, unless I creep--but thats another story. I think November would be Cool, even the end of October. Find a park with LOTS of trees, possibly oak. Could get some killer pictures with yellow/orange leaves.

november works for me too. i've got a show on the 13th here, so before would be best.
doug, you're going to show right? i've heard alot about yours, and would like to see it in person. i would like to do a dyno event, as my engine (check sig) will be done by then. i'd like to see what it puts out. lets try to atleast get a date set, because my work would like a month notice when i take the weekends off. time of day would be nice too so i know which day to make hotel reservations for.

the 20th would work better, as my project is running low on funds and i'd like to show it off. push-comes-to-shove, and i'll ride with xntrx. the weekend before thanksgiving is normally a good traffic time, as most people are waiting for thanksgiving weekend to go or do things.

The 20th works too. :) So now we just have to settle on a place ya? Any other suggestions besides Goethe Park or the Davis park? What about a coastal run? Maybe head to San Jose, give our Bay Area brethren a break since they normally drive up here to Sac for these BB's? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?
I'll bring the BBQ and some dogs & burgers. Somebody else bring Twinkies this time. Based on the responses thus far I'm guessing we won't need much food...

Greetings all TMR members,
This is a quick note to inform you that TMR has just opened registration for our Sunday, November 14th event at Sears Point / Infineon Raceway. If we're all gonna be in Sac to race, might as well just run to Goethe Park and have it there, or the park in Davis. Doesn't matter to me. No reason to keep using up your shop everytime we do this...

Why do we have to combine everything into one event?
Lets go drag racing one week, BBQ the next?Exactly. Not everyone will be able to make it to every event, people have lives outside of TB/CV/VS/SS/BB. But, if we start holding meets more than twice a year, maybe even bi-monthly or monthly, whenever; then we can do all of these things that everyone wants to do. It doesn't all have to be jam-packed into one weekend. Yeah, sure, some oddballs might show up (myself included), but that's to be expected eh?
96DTM850 - I highly doubt they'll mess with you dude. Doug's car has waaay more cop attracting goodies cosmetically than yours does (based on your pics). :-P Besides, it sounds like this may just end up being a TnT at Sac Raceway for some East vs West points, then who knows from there (cruise maybe?)...
n xntrx volvo - When CAN y'all make it? Maybe we could setup another event then? I'm down for that. Hell, we could hold that one in the Bay or farther south; pick a place & date, I'll try to be there. :)

I may be able to make it for the 22nd of october, lets get that locaion fixed, then go on to the november one.Well, we know that the 22nd (being a Friday), will involve a TnT at the drags and possibly a cruise afterwards. The drags won't open until 6pm, so this BB is getting off to a late start. If it spills over into Saturday, we can pretty much do whatever then. Any of the parks around here are nice, some have better parking than others...
I guess the main thing now is: will it spill over into Saturday (or whole weekend?), and where will the weekend's events take place? What would those events be? Should we play it by ear?

Blah, lots of Volvo-heads in Sac! They just need to get out from in front of the TV / Car / Computer / herbstash for a minute or two. I can never seem to get to anything, and I live here. The park / cruise idea sounds kewl tho. I can show off my car's sun-tan it got after I left it in my yard for 4 months w/o a car cover on. I would be, however- down for a bay-area cruise through Petaluma and down Bodega ave into Bodega Bay? That'd be sweet.

How the heck did I miss this entire thread? So what exactly is going on? I see a lot of indecision.
Also, I second the Bay Area idea. Sac is pretty far for some of us. Especially out in Santa Cruz. It took me 2.5 hours to get to the Burgerball. I'm not saying it wasn't worth it. But with gas prices these days and my car running like a flaming turd, it is kind of out of my budget.

How fast/legal do you have to be to race? My car is insanely slow and has a few problems that a cop would give me a fix-it ticket for. (edit: oh, and really ****ty/bald tires) All I have is a lot of suspension **** done to my car and a tired 188000mile B23F. I could go for embarassing myself on the track though.

Yeah, but Logan, you're still probably faster than I am right now... LOL
You could walk the strip for all they care so long as you pay the $45 to be on it.

Me? Faster? Dude, you have a turbo. If you make 1psi, you are probably faster. Also, I thought you had a stick shift. If so, that helps too.
But yeah, I guess I could go and embarass myself if others are going too. Just as long as my car doesn't have to pass inspection...

Awesome!
OK, so let me try to recap everything.
Saturday November 20th we will meet at Sacramento Raceway between 9:00AM-10:00AM to talk/eat donuts/drink coffee/tune whatever. The racing starts at 11:00AM and ends at 3:00PM. This should give all of us enough time to get at least 2 runs in and do some tuning.
It has been suggested that afterwards we go cruise or get something to eat? I am not familiar with Sactown to perhaps we go to a drive in and get a burger for lunch and sit around and talk about our times or the usual BS. Perhaps be done with that ~5:00 PM and get some gas get ready to cruise? Cruise around for a bit, hang out somewhere.
Let me know your thoughts!
We could even have a potluck type of deal at the raceway to have lunch/brunch.
Peace out
