I really love the look of Gemini's but I never see them for sale. How much should someone expect to pay for a set? The only price I saw was $500 in a ten year old catalog. I want that style, but it looks like it will be very hard to get them. Question two, has anyone found anything aftermarket that is VERY similar? Preferably in the $400 and lower catagory.

Thanks
Dom

I should have mentioned that I want a whole SET for around 400. Not per wheel like type a's.
ahhh Borbets are silky smooth and probably even taste wonderful. I do love dem Borbets, they are the uberwheel. Alas, I am too poor.

I to desire the Gemini wheel. However, they were sold as a Volvo accessary wheel. Thus their rarity. The Borbet Type E is what I've run now for several years. You say you want to pay
around $400 for wheels? Well, brand new 15x7 Borbet Type E is only $105 per wheel. That's about the price you want to pay and that will give you new wheels. Someday I hope to afford
the Geminis but they will be big $$ since they are so rare. FYI, the genuine Gemini uses a tool to remove the center cap. Probably a small allen wrench. I haven't seen a set.

Enjoy the road,

They were an option for 740's- they used a large plastic wrench to tighten the caps. I've had mine for years and they look good on my 740- I'm not saying I wouldn't ever sell them, but somebody would have to bring a lot of cash- they are hard to find. Polaris and Gemini are the best looking RWD OEM Volvo wheels, in my opinion.

These were on the car, but rwtrubo wouldn't sell them to me (wonder why). He still has them. Sorry I don't have a better pic.

Man Galaxies are awesome I drooled all over my IPD catalog because of them. I'll probably end up with a 16" set of type E's, but man those two piece type a's are what I want. Man is that a nice wheel but $370 a pop. Damn. I'm going to look for a good head-on shot of a type E to photoshop on my car.

I thought you could get Geminis when the Turbos first came out? I bought my turbo wagon with a set of them, and was told that the original owner bought them for the car WHEN he bought the car. However, he also told me the car had 50k original miles and had never been in an accident, but it's been repainted and the VIN numbers are all scratched off and it had a different color hood and early headlights. So anyway, I could be way off.

I have a set of gemini's on my car. Got them from my volvo mechanic for 200 bucks with brand new yokohama yk420's on them. He bought a car at the local salvage pool for like 600. The car was a 740 wagon that had been hit in the front. The wheels were(and still are) perfect.

P.S. I could probably let them go for a good set of the polaris wheels

What about trade for a set of crappy virgos with near bald tires?

I'll let my two sets of Geminis go for one good set of polaris wheels!

There is a car in town with them.. they look good I bet the girl would trade them to me for a set of new tires on any stock alloys when hers are getting towards worn out... I sort of keep it on the burner....
