Let me know what you think... I know it's not much, and the lady was not lying when she said the body was shot... Anyway, it started right up after sitting there for a few weeks. All it needs is a new caliper to drive it, and a gas leak fixed. Maybe a fun car to get me around for the winter, do some muddin. She's thinking about my offer for $200. Might go up with the trailer this weekend. Here she is...

you can kinda see how bad the rust is

that would be a good GRM car, or one to gut and weld up with whatever you wanted :)
beater would work too :)
Seat covers would work great, that rust is insane. I thought my trunk and the small bit on the outside of the car was bad. That is terrible.

WOW, its pretty rough, IF you do buy it and fix it up...you would have my respect and admiration, but i doubt that will happen. worse come to worse part it out. the doors look straight along with some of the other parts on it.

good luck

After looking at that my 81 242 Ti project looks like a cakewalk but who cares go for it. I'm curently fixing the rust now on my its not that hard just a little bit time consuming thats all.
$200? Thats a steal since it runs. Gotta love the Volvo when it comes to firing up :-D

I'm thiking a can of expanding spray foam, some fiberglass and bondo, a lil Rustoleum and some spare time can get the big holes filled and have me a fun winter car....

Man I sure don't miss living in NE Ohio after seeing those pics.
It's surely worth $200, especially if it runs OK. I can't say I'd drive it in that condition (with the wings west sticker in the back window).
Take off the decal & pimp it.

If I get it, I'm gonna take a razor along and scrape that damn thing off and give it to the lil ricer douche on the spot...

So much hardcore rust yet the body paint is near perfect condition?

There was a 1979 242DL Ltd Coupe in the local paper for $1500 today, wish I could get it.

if you're gonna drive it, set a price limit so it doesn't suck all your $ up, and do like E told me, "keep oil in it, and drive the **** out of it, it'll never die" but make sure you give us a whack at it if you part it out

oh yeah, walmart plush seat covers fit nicely, $19.99 each ;-)

the Virgos are worth that much.

It'd make a great parts car for any 240 you want to make into a beast...

Maybe I'll roll it down on the trailer Sunday. Anyway, it needs a caliper. Not sure which one, but they said it was frozen, that's why they're selling it.

Definitely a major undertaking to fix it up. But well worth $200 even if only for parts.

What a piece....yuck, poor poor Volvo... anyway, turns out the lady just wanted to get rid of the damn thing. I'm never gonna drive it, not even for a winter junker. i think ill just part it out after a while. I'm gonna post in for sale just to get an interest.

Hey..could have worked with dat thing...well..i might need some parts off that. I need the mani and the whole turbo setup. Mabey u can find another one..make it a group project. Well anyway, how much u want for the turbo and mani setup..hows about $75?

I reckon it's definately worth the $200, you get a Turbo motor as well as the Virgos.

Body wise, it looks a lot like my GT did and after a lot of thought I decided against a resto in favour of stripping it, but it didn't have a motor or Virgos...
