The beach, 6,000 or so hot rod cars, a sunday drive up the boardwalk for car show entrants, and a Volvo group cookout in the mikep vicinity, 25 miles from the beach.
If enough people plan to attend, we can get Winterplace Park for the cookout.
The is also a cruise in the spring.

This is also the weekend of the Seagull Century, a 5,000 bike ride from Salisbury University to Assateague Island and back, so motels will be booked early. The good thing is, there are many close towns with accomodations, and quite a few nice campgrounds. I can give you info as needed.

On the bizzarro side, my buddy Ick has won the use of the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile for the Seagull Century so he can fix bikes in style, so any photo op requests come through me for that as well. (Anyone for a posed Volvo/Wienermobile pic?) Actually, you want to stay away from the W-mobile, they are touchy about that thang.

As if that's not enough, there is a surf-fishing tournament that weekend, too.

*update: 18 posts and no replies, If this bombs I'll wait until that weekend comes and goes, then pick another weekend. This is not an option, it is a requirement. Besides, there might be a guided tour of redneck stock-car shops included.

Aparrently I frightened away the prospective touristas....maybe it was the fear of naked jello limbo.

Spring will be better, there's an antique airplane fly-in the same weekend, and a powerboat regatta.

Have you been to the show before?
What is admission price?

You know, I never venture into the show area, I am not fond of trailer queens. The "concours" is in the inlet parking lot. I don't have a clue if they even charge to see that part.
Besides, the real show is on the streets. Every year I see tube chassis race cars with dealer tags yanking the front wheels in the air. There are really more cars than you can comprehend, and in every flavor imaginable. That part is always free.
If I sit still for any time it will be in Lombardi's parking lot, eating some fine grub. Mostly I cruise around and smell race gas and rubber.

The cars started rolling in this morning, but I saw the locals out all weekend. By Thursday every tenth car will be a custom.
