Hey guys..........
The penultimate Hornetrace of the year happens this Saturday night in beautiful Monroe Washington at the Evergreen Speedway www.evergreenspeedway.com ...........
Will John Lane recieve the kiss from the (mostly) Toothless Trophy Girl?
Will the horrible old rat 242 Turbo expire before the end?
Will the horrible old rat 242 turbo die a violent death?
Or will the horrible old rat 242 turbo continue into a second season of Hornetracing? (Please no!!)

Come one come all.........See the genetically challenged go racing for the 300 lap enduro.
A good time will be had by all.

John Lane.

He don't know me very well...........

We shall just have to wait and see how the HornetVolvo hangs in there. It has been quite the trooper sofar. The score has been engine and trans mounts, brake fluid, set of tires (just done) this year. We don't count time with the really BIG hammer. That is just part of the game. It IS getting exhaust for this event with a fresh set of brake pads for both ends just in time for the 300 lap Enduro event. A typical day of Hornets will have maybe thirty laps of practice+15 to 25 laps of racing. All for $25.00 for most events. The Enduro is a $65.00 entry fee...........
Unknowns with the HornetVolvo: Age of timing belt......I'd have had a customer replace it a few years back.......Age of plug wires......Looking to be a decade+ for age........It is what it is. Should be a hoot.

Show of hands.........Who can make it?

See to it that you roll that sucker over a few times. It's not a race unless you see it upside down.

On that note, I must go off-topic and mention that I had my license 3 days and rolled my first car. I wrecked my first at age 12. 13, maybe.

Hornet racing sounds like a cool class.

You guys missed out on a laughriot of a time!!
300 laps of insanity out at Monroe Saturday night.
I'm out fifty cents to whomever figured that the HornetVolvo would make it.
Despite the best efforts of one of my competitors the HornetVolvo continues to move under it's own power.
I got to be pretty comfortable at hanging the tail out (hard to believe huh?).........Heehee.
I did have an issue with one of the intake hoses developing a nice big hole causing it to overfuel. Once that was cured we ran RIGHT into FUEL CUT cuz I have made that WG rod nice and short. More to fiddle with. Of course I also need to attend to the worn valve guides that are making for the 'boosted crankcase' issue that has been well and truly beat TO DEATH!! FWIW I never blew out the dipstick........Just all the oil onto the track slowly.......That oil light was on for more and more of the time as the race drew to a close.....Heehee.
Altogether a good time was had by all..........
The score: four tires.......Dead. Six quarts of oil........on the track. Other cars taken out cuz they are too slow (via the forced pirouette): six..... Laughs? My sides are still sore.

My competition? Mostly from FAST, LIGHT Hondas. I had a good time really mixing it up with those guys.

My buddy Matt got some footage. We shall see if he can put it into something usable.
