I think it's a bit early for this, since they still have last years stuff on the website.
When: Friday (night) May 16th through Sunday May 18th
Last year I was up there early on Friday (morning) and it runs all day.
[quote:a28ffd0bf8] Cost: $15 to show...[/quote:a28ffd0bf8]
I think it's $15 in advance, $20 the day of.

i guess, then again we were talking about Davis 4 months in advance 8)
Just figured i'd throw it out there and see who alls going, i suspect that the details will generally be the same as last year... hard to imagine they'd still have last years details with it being only 2 months away?

Yeah, I guess so. I wonder if it's worth the time to check out the compact show in early May. I'll probably see how my schedule is around that time.
I've been thinking about Carlisle '03 since last May! We need a decent sized April GTG to get us all organized and ready.

do you guys really travel this far for this event?..that's pretty cool. i'll have my own place about an hour from there if i move out by then...so i guess some haggard travellers would be welcome to crash, granted you bring beer of coarse. But, i should be there...i was there last year.

It only takes me about 2 hours each way. It goes by fast at 90mph.
There's a couple with a yellow '95 T5-R that has made the trip down from Ottawa at least the past two years. There's always a bunch from New York too. I live close in comparison.

Hey Everybody,
I just wanted to drop in and say, "What's up?" I just moved to PA and started working with Carlisle Events (unfortunately it required me to abandon my V8 740 project due to lack of garage space) and I wanted to post my info in case anybody had any questions. Hope to see you here at either the Custom Compact show (we do have a few 240's and C70's coming) or the Import/Kit Nationals. Have fun...
P.S. - Erik, thanks for turning me on to this thread.

We've had 4-6 car caravans the last two years, driving up on Saturday. There's a good chance it will happen again this year, although I may get a hotel room or just camp out one night.

I've got reservations now with Chris242GT at a place 25-30 minutes away...if you're planning on renting a room, I'd call soon cause they're already pretty booked. Can't wait for the show, I just have to decide wheter to bring the 242 (Photo contest winner, hehe) or the Bertone which is soon to be turbo...

Since Kai probably won't read this...let him drive the turbo-tonè and you can drive the photo contest winner.

The flyer I just got in the mail 2 days ago lists the price for camping spots for the mid-May Import/kit-car show. It is allowed.
The website says no on-ground camping available for the Import/Compact show, which is the first weekend in May.
I am leaving Sat morning, if anyone wants to ride let me know....... I live in Easton, PA....near Allentown, Bethlehem. Also we is everyone gonna meet up at? Late

I should be there on Saturday. I registered to show, only so I'd have good parking! But don't know if the Volvo will actually be driven there, if put it on the lift today, and I've got leaking brake lines! If I do take it, you won't miss the eyesore! Multi colored 164e. Otherwise I'll just be driving my Saturn.

05-18-2003, 07:32 PM
hey i was there... I definetly didn't know that you could show just any ol' volvo, otherwise i would have brought the beast up. I didn't get to meet you dana, what time did u get there saturday?? I left around 3 or 4... That orange flamed job was pretty gaudy to say the least, and that riced out blue/yellow/white 240 made me wonder. :???: Red 940 wagon with the 19's was very nice...it was cool to meet the photo contest winner himself...i recognized mike towery's car right away and met his quiet self... and lots of really nice vintage volvs...me and chrinj took a couple shots, i'm sure he'll post em..
boostdemon
05-18-2003, 08:10 PM
behave? i guess so... not public BJ's on the bleachers like the compact car show had
Yeah i didnt end up getting up there will like 4:30 saturday so i suspect i missed a bunch of folks. Prolly passed your guys coming in. We'll throw a big event this summer i suspect... ideas were tossed out about a swedespeed/turbobricks/audi club track event at VIR. hopefully that will pan out

Yeah, the show was fun. Unfortunately, had some trouble with the Photo Contest Winner:
http://home.third-moon.com/pictures/upload/1053317925.jpg
Had to drive home Saturday night, grab the driveshaft out of my Bertone, drive back up Sunday morning with tools,
etc. and replace it on the Show Field! It was fun... Got it all together for the ride home though.
Think it's time for a Carbon driveshaft now.]

Well, I broke it outside of the gates, probably 3/4 of a mile away, attempting to do a burnout...I guess that the driveshafts can't stand too many of them, but it may haves something to do with the new locker I just put in the rear end. :???: Had Chris242GT push the car with his in reverse (so the bumpers would line up) all the way back to the show field. It was an interesting experience.
