The trim on my doors has been painted a matte black and now is starting to flake off in places. What advice could be given for repainting these things? Could I go with a gloss if I wanted to or would that not turn out well?

do you mean the black turbo trim? if so, I believe it's vinyl, and can be redone. Or you could always paint it satin or matte black... that's what I did.

Did you just use a spray paint can to do it? I am thinking of just taping off the trim and spray painting it. I am not really liking the matte black but that will probably give me the best results.

Swap it out for some non-turbo trim from the PnP. The non-turbo has the chrome strip down the center.

ive had good luck in the past restoring trim blackness by first cleaning the piece with rubbing alcahol 100000 times and then dusting it with regular gloss black spray paint. but just dusting. and redusting untill its black. so its not a coat. just a dusting.

do what i did.
go to walmart and buy 3 sponge brushes.
then spray the black trim paint on it and brush the trim.

When the time comes, I think I'm gonna re-tape mine, I think 3M has something similar.
