The late model 960 sedan had clear tails, and I was wondering If those would fit on my 940 sedan. Does anyone know if this application would be possible?

Yes they fit, I've seen it done on other 940's. It's been something I've wanted to do to my car for the past 2 years, but I just haven't run across a great deal yet.

They'll fit, but if you save your original inner lights there will be a difference in colour between the white field in the rear fender light and the inner light...

Huh? Is it me that you mean?? a small colourdifference between the white field of the inner part of the taillights (when using stock) and the outer part that now is yellow...

It's not too much, so you might not bother, but if you want it perfect, pick the inner parts of the taillights too!

they work perfect, exept for the bulb diagram needs to be trimed to fit, they have two little guides you have to sand down, and the color difference is just the orange bulbs, replace them with cleat bulbs and the color will be the same

No, can't you see the colour diffference on the white part between the white car and the dark one I posted in this thread??

The white part are a little grey on the ones with white "blinker"

At least on the last 940's Might be that the early models had clear white "blinkers"

What's the word in english?

I'd have thought the colour difference was down to age....or aftermarket vs original...right? In other words, if you bought Hova 'outer' sections but kept your original inners, you'd see a difference. But buy used S90/960/(late)944 lamps, and it'd be ok I think.

cheers

Yeah OK well I bought them today. They were the '96 960 tails. I got 'em from a junk yard. Pulled them away for 100. It sounds like alot, but if I were to order them elsewhere...There is a slight color difference, and can this be deleted if I use the inner bulbs for the 960?

Hm, i'm from Sweden, so it's hard with this technical english...

I'll try to explain; no, not the bulbs, you need the compltete lenses that are on the trunklid (the one you open to get into the trunk).

But if you have the outer lenses (those that not follow the decklid when you open it. and your car, you can see if there is a colour difference i've HEARD that early white outer lenses are completely white, not fading to grey as the newer ones, by comparing them you can see if there's a difference or not.

Yeah mine, look like those installed on the green 940 in one of your earlier posts; slightly grey, but at the same time no one will notice instantly upon viewing.
