Hella Driving lights..In Progress

The pic below stired a couple of question in our South/Central TX Meet thread..Though I would post a few more pics...

First off I learned that taking picture of something spray painted flat black in the dark is quite a challange.
Here is the front of the car with just one light mounted. Sorry everything i so dirty..Haven't removed the bugs from the trip yet. One other thing I did was remove my headlight covers and painted the edges black, then re-sealed them..These edges are normally reflective like the rest of the headlight bucket..But since they face the front of the car they do not reflect anything..so I made them black...

Again..This is not complete..So be kind...The lights are countersunk 4 inches up and 3.5 inches back into the bumper...Lots of cutting and grinding to get to this point..

hope they dont get too hot and melt the plastic of the bumper...also, what wattage you gonna use with them thar beasties?

The Hella light housings are abs plastic with a lower temp rating than the 8" utility pipe I used to make the bucket.. Should not be an issue...I think the Hella 500 are a 55w bulb..

Looks good. That mounting position is much better suited to fog lights than driving lights. You may not get to use them to their full potential at that height.

Yeah..That crossed my mind...If they do not project well I will swap them with hella fogs...Since 95% of my driving is in city..This prob will be more for looks than function anyway..
