Thank you! :-D

The intercooler...Uhm...not quite sure

It is a custom made piece, not very big, but it flows very well. All aluminium, welded end tanks. I bought it second-hand together with the EMS.

It is about the size of a regular 240 intercooler, just a little bit lower, and somewhat thicker. Works very well, keeps temperatures under 40'C no matter what i do, at least in the temperatures we see here in Norway.

-EDIT- I really have to polish my car someday....the roof and hood is getting pinker and pinker. And me who _hates_ rubbing. :-(

BUMP!

I am really tired of the Eiker rims now...I bought 5 used ones and none of them are holding air....they are all bent and dented everywhere.

So, what do you think about these? :badboy:

http://www.bilprodukter.no/bildesider-2004/bpS7-kloster.html

Do you think there is enough space for 8,5*18" ET20 on a 240? I know they fill fit in the rear, but I suspect they might be to big for the front....and I don't want two different sizes on the car.

Yes, you can put 8.5" on the front. ET20 is too much, I think, but I can't be sure. 18x8 ET15 with 225/40/18 will fit on the front, no problem. I know that. But 18x8.5 ET20 will have more back spacing. When you add width to the wheel, you should decrease offset so that the added width is on the front side of the wheel.

I would get 18x8.5 ET10 for a 240. In the rear, you might be able to use even less offset, like 5 or 0. It depends on tire size, and how much fender lip you cut off or roll back.

What tire size do you want to use?

Isn't 20 the standard offset on 240's? I dont want to decrease offset, especially on the front wheels, as that will increase the bump steer...

If my memory serves me right, my Eiker wheels are 7,5*17", ET20. With 235/45-17" there is just not enough space for the Volvo spacers (20mm), but I thought if I increased the width off the rim by 1" (12,5mm each side), it will fit perfectly. I was only really worried about the front wheels, at full turn my Eiker wheels touch barely.

I was thinking about using 255/35-18", this will give a slightly reduced diameter compared to the tires I use today. These were the only 35 profile tires I could find, hope they will fit a 8,5" rim.

How fast is it.....I dunno, haven't got it dynoed yet. But I should really book time on a dyno soon, I have had the car for 6 years now....without dynoing it.

All I can say, I had a modded 850 T5 with claimed 300HP on the flywheel, my 240 is definetly faster...

When I get the money, I will dyno it. But I want to do more than dyno it, I also want to get the engine proffesionally tuned....and that costs. So far it is only mapped on the road.

I did mine with a similar idea, except I used red instead of black.
My girlfriend just bought a silver '85 240GLE, which we'll probably do black.

here's a pick of mine....

This is the sexiest Volvo thread I've seen in 3 years. EXCELLENT work on the red 244. That paint job is genius! Body colored mid and lower bumpers to make it look factory, and bodycolored lower rocker panels to make the car look lower. GENIUS!

That purple 242's front bodywork is exquisite. I mean DAMN! Look how well it integrates into the front and side panels!

thanks!
mine is a '90
B230F, H cam, extractors & 2.25" exhaust system, custom airbox, ported head, Thermo fan, M47 5 speed. Koni Adjustable shocks all round, custom front and rear springs, DVS adjustable panhard bar, DVS adjustable front swaybar links, DVS tower to tower brace, DVS lower braces, 23mm front and rear swaybars, urethane bushes throughout, DVS aluminium sumpguard.

Its waiting for the 531 head to be finished and swapped on.

Im still undecided about the bumpers. The car gets used for track days - sprints, etc so the black is far easier to clean/repair/replace if I ever need to.

I'll do the black headlights like yours on my girlfriends 240GLE and take some photos to show you all what it looks like.

Best Regards,
Ash
