The Update Thread

I figured I'd start a permanent thread for any changes I do, big or small, so that people can let me know if they screw up anything.
not sure there will be a whole lot since we've worked out lots of bugs and tweaks already, but none the less.

so um, lets see... last night i uploaded the new more organized website, new css, dynamic menu/header/footer so they're the exact same no matter what page you're on, and got the articles stripped down and ready for the database setup this summer.

changed the "view online" colors of the admin and mods cause i didnt like being bright red :roll:

well, i actually didnt add anything, i deleted the "place holders" for the articles that were pulled.

moved the store to the tbricks server, updated

links in menu and board menu.

"pushed" the who's online box down to make it a

little more separated...
also move the "users browsing this forum" to the bottom and ditched the "moderators:

none" note

finally fixed the width of the refresh screen

when you "mark forum read" and such.

"compose" screen and moved it up

i "upped" the PM mailbox limit so now you can have 50pm's in the inbox, and 20 in the savebox.

I might bump it up a bit more from there

got the customer user title setup... wasnt what i was expecting, but we can make due. stay tuned

also added the mouseover feature to preview the first 200 lines of the topic post. if enough people would rather have it show the last post in the thread we can do it that way instead.

I like the topic view when you hold your cursor over the thread title. Thats a big feature on another board and a way to speed up browsing.

added the options to "Search by subject line only" and "author is thread starter" to the search function. this will make searching faster, and more specific.

example: "i know that topic was something about cams... but when I search for "cam" I get all the posts with the word "cam" in it"
(search "cam" in topic title only, and it will only bring back topics with the word "cam" in its title)

example: "I wanna find this one topic kenny started... but everytime I search I get all 5000 of his posts"
(now you can get only the threads that kenny has started, which oyu might actually be able to browse through in a day! lol)

heres a nice one: added a nice blue drop background to the folder icons of the threads you've posted in (this is where vbulletin and others added a big black dot over the icons)

fixed a slight problem with the CSS styles... basically set it to actually use the link rel instead of reassigning/parsing all the css at each page view. This should help with bandwidth as well as load the pages a little faster for those of you w/o broadband or a supercomputer

also changed around the color scheme a bit... ditched the blue tint to some of the styles

The start of turbobricks v3.5 is up. lots of changes, lots of broken stuff that im well aware of.. i'll be working on it every chance i get over the next few days in preperation for the new board which is up but locked till its ready.
