Ugh, at least you don't run in ESP. Those Mustangs and Camaros eat me alive.
ESP GEBE RAINEY MUSTANG ESP302 00:28.962
ESP BILLY ACKLIN WRX ESP26 00:30.077
ESP ANDREW MCDONALD TRANSAM ESP78 00:30.880
ESP TOMMY WENTZ MUSTANG GT ESP32 00:31.686
ESP ROBIN ROEMISCH VOLVO 740 TURBO ESP007 00:31.875
But I'm a second off the pace of a WRX. Makes me happy. :)

Well, 1.8 seconds. ESP is the Pony car class, but just wait til the new Evo and STi start showing up more often. So far I've heard that the Evo is going to be in ESP, but I'm not certain about the STi. But don't worry, that won't last long before it gets moved up. I'm guessing it ends up in BSP or CSP.
According to my 2003 Solo rulebook, the 700 series is classified in both ESP and FSP. It says "700 Series (all)" for both of them, with no mention of turbo or non-turbo. I'm not sure why, but the 240 Turbo is in DSP while all 700 and 800 series fall into ESP or lower. In the Stock classes, all Volvo turbos are grouped together in G Stock. At least for FSP it lists "240 Series, non-turbo (all)", but that's the only specific classification as to turbo/non. Consider running FSP, it appears to be technically legal. :-)
Last year I ran FSP and got killed by the eventual class champion, a MkII Scirocco. The car owner always beat me by several seconds, but sometimes he brought along his friend as a co-driver who was a national level driver and he would run another 1-3 seconds faster every time. I switched to STS for the better PAX, even though a lot more cars enter the class. I want to run street tires anyway, so this seemed like my best option.

Hmm...
Here are our DSP guys:
DSP LUKE KAPUSTKA CIVIC SI DSP23 00:30.135
DSP KEVIN BARNETT FIAT X19 DSP1 00:32.117
DSP SIMON KORT INTEGRA DSP95 00:32.422
DSP DEREH PHILLIPS CIVIC DSP12 00:32.446
DSP DAVID DEROCHE IMPREZA 2.5RS DSP0 00:33.005
I suppose I could run very comptetively in that class, they just put me in ESP when I started all this mess, and I never argued. Already got the magnets made up with ESP... gotta cut two more "D"s for this season I suppose. :) I don't wanna compete against that Evo...
I really need to have some pro drivers ride with me and give me pointers... I always feel really sloppy when I drive... seems as if I'm always trying to control wheelspin (too much power) and understeer (not enough suspension)

No, you would never be in DSP. I was commenting that the 240 Turbo is classed in DSP while the 740 Turbo falls into ESP (or FSP), which doesn't make sense to me since the two cars would probably be very close when prepared equally.
