One of the first major changes with my car since i bought it. A nice new set of 19" x 8.5" Fusion Shadow Chrome wheels. A few minor teething problems with the back ones rubbing on the guards, got that fixed today. In a few weeks will get the springs and shocks done. I'm worried about more rubbing once it gets dropped. The place i got it done at didn't really wanna spend time with the car to sort out any issues, it's the first Volvo they've done, and are probably used to 30 minute jobs.

Overall, i think it suites, i'm pretty happy. And i better be after $2,400. Yeh, i know it's about the same value as my car itself, but it will be the hottest Volvo in the southern hemisphere one day ;) .

Tell me what u think, and if you know anything regarding issues/hints on lowering or anything relating to springs, shocks, guard rolling, sway bars etc....spill it on me.

-Dave.

lol, nah not those tacky wheels. i wanted something to take away the innocent looks, give it a bit of muscle, as well as look stylish and hot. i think i made the right choice.

That's the plan, to get it down low...but i'm worried about rubbing, and having to do mods to the inside of the wheel bays. I'm thinking of doing it myself, because it's been a prick of a job to find anyone who will touch these cars in my town. I'll keep looking around tho while i save up the $$ for the springs etc. Anyone else on this board with similar setup, know of any issues and stuff?

I've never thought wheels could look too big on a 240, but that's it right there. It looks like a bling factory exploded. Nice work though. That's the first set of 19"s I've ever seen on a Volvo.

Shaved the door handles, and emblems, flat hood/worked grill, dumped the front lic plate, dropped the hell out of it and tinted the rear windows. God damn, I'd love to have that beast!

Ditto, I've always liked Black/dark wheels myself, but whatever floats your boat, they do look good, Now if you'd get it lowered, that will look badass!

Nice, but how is anyone supposed to get in, you shaved the door lines too and the windows are closed.. :-P

Crawl through the trunk. Style has its cost.

I dunno, starting to get a little covered wagon-ish looking. IMHO that's a little too much rim for that car.

that looks phat!! very nice. and i can picture it dropped just to where the wheel line matches up with the fender. that will be sick! very nice, and impressive that you made an investment like that in one big chunk. :) later,

Hahaha, awesome photoshop jobs. But yeh, i donno about crawling in through the boot with the lady friends. :)

But yeh, it needs to be dropped, not too far...i still want it to look respectable.

As for the questions, yes spacers were made and used, which i think added to the rubbing, all fixed now tho...we'll see how much more work i have to do once it gets lower.

With 215/35/19 tires, you would have no problem lowering the car, as long as you cut or roll back the rear fender lip. Wider or taller...could become more difficult. You don't want to cut the fender lip completely off, because that will make the panel weak.

What is the wheel offset? They look like they stick out quite a bit, and that could pose a problem in the rear.

It would look killer with the door handles shaved. You can use remote solenoids to get in. Thats how I do it on my car.

Those wheels do look great.
