In October I bought a 1995 850 T5 wagon.
I finally got around to taking some photos today.
I got a good deal, it was completely stock.
I bought it so that we can take the 240 off the road for extended periods and so that we have something both my girlfriend can drive to go on holidays, tow the 240 to track days and I can drive around when I dont have the company car.
Aside from this we'll use it as a test bed for new components, and to display our 850/S70/V70 products, etc.

It has a few scratches here and there, 176,000kms, its auto, but its generally quite tidy.

Heres some photos:

Interior. I HATE woodgrain dash highlights, if anyone knows where I can get a nice brushed aluminium or CF dash kit, please PM me.

Engine bay with DVS tower to tower brace fitted, IPD upper engine mount and one of the MSD coil kits we purchased from Eurosport Tuning.

Close up of MSD coil fitted. Notice it is considerably bigger than the stock volvo coil.

Its still essentially a stock T5.
* MSD coil kit
* Replaced orange side markers with later clear ones
* Remove the volvo badge from the tailgate and straightened out a big dint (now its just a
small dint ;-)
* Fitted DVS Strut tower to tower brace
* Fitted IPD urethane upper engine mount
* Removed rear mudflaps
* Replaced front pads and discs
* Fitted cargo mat
* Service and tune up.
* Generally given it a clean up.

We have a roof spoiler on its way and I'd like to get an 850R front spoiler and a set of Titans wheels, but we'll see what happens.

A DVS aluminium sumpguard is sitting in the workshop waiting to go on, but I'll get around to that eventually.

Cheers,
Ash

That car looks GREAT, I LOVE that color, and it's even beter in a Wagon.... What part number is that MSD coil? I'd love to get one for my wife's car, I thought there was some ignition stuff with the coil that couldn't be removed, is it a plug-n-play?

Its pretty much plug-n-play. We bought two kits from EuroSport Tuning.
The coil itself doesnt have a part number on it.

Heres the link
http://www.eurosporttuning.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=EST&Category_Code=ignitionc

or just go to http://www.eurosporttuning.com and go to ENGINE > IGNITION UPGRADES

The instructions say that you should have your stereo code handy and you should disconnect the battery, but really thats about as technical as it gets.

Thanks, its a bit of a mess in the photo, but the vinyl flooring makes it generally pretty easy to keep clean.

Looks amazing! are the pegasus on your 850 17" or 18" ?

those would be 17's... with huge blizzaks on them..

Still looks good. I've been looking for a set of titans for it, but the pegasus would like great in an anthracite color. I'd go with 17's also as 18" tyres are VERY expensive here, whereas 17" tyres are often cheaper than 16" tyres.

Do you know if 17" pegasus wheels are available in titanium finish or whatever the volvo name might be for dark metallic grey?

Volvo4Life

yes.. they are, they're available in anthracite, umm a darker version and silver... silver isn't offered on the 18's.. i thought a darker color would look nice, but i love the way the silver looks on our color with the 16" Columbas.

I agree with you I think.
Is your 850 a turbo or an N/A?

I have the 16" Columbia wheels on my red 240 and think it looks quite good although I am thinking of powdercoating them an anthracite type of colour.

Looks great, as does the black 850 (R?) behind it in one of the shots.
In the US, do the 850 Turbos have different suspension settings to the N/A cars?
Obviously the R does.

Here our 'T5' spec cars have a lower ride height than the N/A cars, by approx 10mm when new, and the 'R' is another approx 5mm lower again.

Thanks heaps for the photos.

i believe you can have sports suspension option and then R suspension

when i changed out the springs from the stock factory suspension the car no longer felt like a huge whale coming into the turns... i could really use some nice sways though :-D :badboy:

That makes sense with what I've learned about them here.
All our T5 cars got the Sports suspension from standard though.

What springs did you use in yours?

It certainly floats around more than the 240, but the 240 isnt a comfortable road car either.
The tower to tower brace made a big difference to the 850 though.

240 is lighter... i have the eibach pro kit on it.

I realise the weight difference, however its probably due to my 240 having custom made springs, Koni Sport adjustables, urethane bushes throughout, 23mm swaybars, adjustable panhard bar and adjustable front swaybar endlinks.
Compare this to the factory fitted sports suspension kit in the T5 and comparing the two probably isnt fair.

*gives the 850 a hug* "I'm sorry" :rofl:

Seriously though, many thanks for telling me a bit about yours and all the photos.
We're moving towards more 850/S70/V70 products and its good to hear what others have been doing with theirs and how they've been modifying them.

The 850 doesnt have a large performance following here yet, but I'd say it will over the next couple of years as prices continue to drop.

As the following increases, we'll develop more products aside from just the strut brace and sumpguard we have now.

Best Regards,
Ash

Cheers, its pretty much stock at the moment, but its ideal to carry around bits for the 240 and tow it to track days with.
