Hehe, so Finally decided to clean things up in the bricks bonnet. Being I had a few extra parts lying around ive been painting...got the intake done. Incase youare wondering its painted with dupli-color High heat 500 degree the color is cast cote. The valve cover is sandblasted and clearcoated with high temp clear. I love the raw aluminum! Just thought Id share, i should have em on by the euro show in anehiem

I'm glad you mentioned that. I hate the use of "intake" to describe an air inlet instead of a manifold.

Nice work, BTW.

volvorod85, you have a nice 760. You just inspired me to new heights on my upcoming megasquirt install. Looks like I will be trying to copy you. That just looks to great to pass up.

That is a really great color, I would paint the 'Volvo' on the cover so it stands out a bit... I've started some clean up under the hood but I am waiting for warmer weather to continue with that stuff...

Looks great! Awesome color!
Fair warning to those wanting an aluminum color from their intakes.
I had my B230 intake thermally cleaned and it came back spotless. So I clear coated it with Duplicolor 500F clear coat. This caused the manifold to darken up. Quite odd, but it shines :)

Hopefully when I get all the parts on the car it will stay clean, im not sure how it will all hold up under some abuse, it should be ok though. The valve cover did darken a little from the clear though. Im pretty happy. Thanks for all the compliments!!! :)))

The paint will hold up no problem, so don't worry about it. Just so long as you don't spray fuel or BrakeKleen all over it!! Very, very nicely done. Next paint your turbo ;-) .

Looks great! How did you prep the intake manifold for painting? Was it sand blasted?

Agreed. When i hear "custom intake" I think of something tig welded with velocvity stack and a fuel rail. Not a cone filter shrouded with a bunch of campbell's soup cans all riveted together. :)
PS lookin good, hope the paint holds up. Intake manifolds have a bit of a tough life.
