So the flimsy DB37 connector from original MS has been getting on my nerves, and the extra input/output needs of MSnS-extra meant I had to add an ugly molex connector hanging out my MS box like a strange tumor. Solution: More wires!

http://www.pbase.com/765ti/image/37677036.jpg

The wires grouped to the right are the orignal MS interface. Therers 16. The wires on the left are the interface for MSnS-e, for a total of 34. And I have 9 pins left, but just in case, I have the upper connector as well, for a grand total of 86 pins, if I ever need em. The connector is from an 850, as the LH2.2 connector has a mere 23 pins. weak.

So anyway, here the rest!

The connector on the left side of the box is the output connector for the daughtercard for MSnS-e that has all the extra circuit components on it. The one near the bottom is obviously the input connector, connects to the cpu output pins. Here's with the daughtercard installed, note the ultra high-tech anti-static envelope so the board doesnt short anything out:

Still got to re-wire the car with the new connector and clean up extraneous nonsense. Also got to add some more circuits to the daughtercard... but I'd say the hard parts done...

what's this NOT-Jetronic you're trying there? is it a bolt-on upgrade for LH-Jetronic 2.2?

yup. all you need is a red sharpie.

sweet! so just removing the PN sticker and writing "NOT" in front of "JETRONIC" will make my car fast?

he put the ms board in the jetronic case, so he could mount it in the stock location.

Poi that's killer! But waaaaay too stock for my tastes  . I'm lovin it.

Holy hell how many extra outputs do you have? Jeeeze, 34? WTF? Are you just leaving all the options open? I haven't even started hooking up the neato "extra" features yet, just played with the settings in MT. You've already got a daughter card setup and all, man you're cooler than me. What specifically is the purpose of the daughter card? To get more outputs? Do you honestly need any more?

You better be upgrading to that 139 module while you're at it....

Have fun!

Holy hell!
John! You break out of Lynden (church capital of the northwest) and look what happens to you! I'm very disappointed in you, young man. You're not allowed to spend time with those heathen Canadians anymore!

If I ever got around to gettingt MS, I was gonna do that with my old ECU that came from my car.

Have fun!well they really add up. its got grounds for devices, boost control ground, two output grounds, laucnh control ground and then all kinds of outputs for the knock control system... teh sensitivity controls, the LED power and ground, etc. Theres still a handful of gadgets to add, fortunately, I got the wires to do it. The daughtercard is just where the new circuits for the outputs are.

In any event, I hope to increase the appeal of the not-jetronic box by plishing the aluminum cover. ha ha! thanks for the kind words guys http://www.pbase.com/765ti/image/31894089.jpg

Looks good Chris. You up on all the new code stuff? In changing over to WBLin, I've since discovered they changed the AFR target system to use actual AFR's, not o2 voltages. Cripes, now I gotta figure out how to use Easytherm again....

You should make that kickpanel out of lexan and put some neon tubes in there. Maybe a disco ball and a bubble machine while you're at it.

very nice. lots o wires for ms&s e then, hrm, i hada neat idea bout that, reckon i'll move on to something bigger (time for a raid on RS hahahaha).

Almost time 2 play with mine :-D

Haven't actaully ran the new code on the car yet, but seems to work so far with the testing I've done. And ya, actaul AFR tables are a lot easier to use :)

Okay, lets hope pbase is gonna cooperate today. I dunno bout the original pics, hoepfully they'll turn up sooner or later...

But anyway, I finished wiring it in. Still have testing to do and the inevitable re-wiring and extensive testing to figure out what I managed to screw up... but here's to asthetics while they last:

Full frontal (the strange harness going up is going into the glovebox, for the WB):

http://www.pbase.com/765ti/image/38034765.jpg

The new ECU all bolted in:

http://www.pbase.com/765ti/image/38034766.jpg

And the relay/fuse thing for the main power, I'm using the stock EFI relay for the fuel pump to save some wiring and retain as many stock fuses as I could. I couldn't track down the fused power for the ECU however, so there was no way could use that. I kinda wonder if the stock ECU is even fused...

I split-loomed essetnially everythign by the way

And now the underhood:

You whore. That wiring is incredible!!!!!!!!! Must have taken you forever! Yeah man that looks really really slick, great job. It looks eerily too "stock" though. You're converting to a 139 ignition module too right?

HEHEHE, it starts and idles! Which essentially means it works... for the amount of stuff i changed... I had a broken solder joint around the fuel pump relay trigger, but thats it...so far :) I switched to the 139 ya, and it works too (obviously :-P ) didnt work the last time i tried it cause the 124 and 139 wiring are very differnt...weird. But woohoo it works! But its raining and crap (and it was raining and crap the whoel time I was wiring....) so now i gotta somehow put the interior together... woohoo!!!!

That's awesome that it actually started up. Every time I do a serious mod like that I cringe at the thought of it not starting.... Ohh and yer pics don't work. One of these days I'm going to redo my entire wiring harness and install the 139, thanks for the motivation!
