brings his BBQ. Alos if we go the day before we can take my dads drag boat out. He has a offshore power boat

Hell all, I don't post

here often, I'm a "wrong-wheel" driver (FWD). I was talking to a few people in NY about having our Meet on May

4th, which is opening day at Watkins Glen. I did this last year and I think you would all enjoy it.



Basically you pay $15 per car, and you drive on the track behind the pace car which limits your speed to

about 60 mph, but it's still a blast. You get 3 laps, and it's open all day so you can go multiple times. I

was thinking we could meet there, or somewhere else, and caravan down there and show off our ovlovs at the inner

parking lot and hit the track.

If we can get a decent number of people to do it I think it could be fun.

friends go to Rit and my bro's fiance is from canandaguia. I will be in canadaguia all of august so I will drive

on by you. We will make plans

yeah about the pace-car thing. When I went last

year, I was a couple of cars behind an RX-7. He would slow down (almost to a complete stop) and wait for the

pace car to go around the corner out of sight. After that he would gun it down the straight-away (he was

probably doing about a 100 at that point), but overall you are still behind the pace car. Honestly though, you

still "feel" like you are going fast around those corners. it's a BLAST.

update:

Looks like we are still on for May 4th. When it gets closer to the date I'll post a time that works for most people and we'll meet probably in hte town of Watkins Glen (probably at the supermarket). I'll keep everyone posted.

With the way this north east weather is goin itll probably be sunny and 70 the day before and 30 and snowing the day of the event. Rain, shine, ice, snow, hurricane, tornado..ill be there with my brick.

Word, there's an SCCA autocross event at my school sometime in May. They haven't set an exact date yet, but hopefully i'll have springs by then.

Yeah! About a week until the event at Watkins Glen. Me and Rob (Antonetta_'86) are gonna drive to 'Cuse, meet up with Alex (AGBullit) then head to Watkins from there. Anyone else want to caravan together to the track?

It's at Watkins Glen, which is in central NY. It might be too far for you if you're in north NJ. The meet is going to be at the opening event at Watkins, May 4th.

yeah I'm still going, I'm leading my local car club from the Carosel Mall center at prompty 10AM and driving down to the glen.
