I know this has been discussed many times, but I know next to nothing about wheels. So sorry for asking again. Car is a 242.
There is a set of BBS LMs for sale locally that I'm thinking of picking up. They're 17x8 and 17x9; both ET 35. I'd probably run 235-245 wide tires all around. My rear fenders are already rolled pretty well and centering the axle is no big deal. No fender work in the front, but I do have coilovers. From what I've read, I'd probably want to end up with an ET around 10 in the rear, and a little less than that in the front. That means my spacer/adapter would be something like 25 mm. Is that reasonable to do with adapters? Would I have to cut my studs? I'd rather avoid that. Would it be much better to get the hubs and axles redrilled? I was thinking about drilling the front hubs and getting long studs/spacers, but I don't know best practices when it comes to wheels.
