Well, its dead. I fatally wounded the heart of the spongebob mobile, with a post mortem revealing not a broken head gasket, but two bent rods. Apparently a wastegate hose came aloose on the APC's 3-way solenoid, leading to run away boost, whilst I was testing the 60 trim out. Due to my unfamiliarty with the way this turbo spools I was not able to properly diagnose a popped hose in time, it surged past 17psi for just a few seconds and began to detonate.
The headgasket, with a few chips to the water jackets, looked a bit suspect, but a quick visual check of deck height revealed that my #3 and #4 rods are bent. The motor has been running completely fine, minus a very crappy, missing idle, almost as if it has a terrible vacuum leak. I have no choice but to try and rely on it for another few days until I can swap in its replacement.
For all those who may have been waffling on the idea of attending Mikey's cookout, you definately need to come. Last night, there was a unanimous decision that the spongebob mobile will be providing next saturdays entertainment. If you want to know what kind of entertainment that is, you'll just have to come up to find out. I can guarantee this though, it will be major fun! Bring whatever type of photo-capturing device you can, as there will be some memorable moments you may want to capture.
