Time to sort something out for the 7th of may with Isaac.
Currently we have two choices :
1) head into London for a pub crawl
2) Drive to Cheshs with some activity to be arranged.
Please discuss below

Haha, the excuses just get better :-P
My vote goes for B, but then it's not up to me :)

B for me too.
I've had a look at train tickets into the capital. I'm looking at about £55, arriving at 11am, leaving at 6. If i want to leave earlier/later - price goes up.

I think the kind of meet we have depends on Isaacs wishes, and the objective for the day.
Do we want:-
A, A 'get together/drinking/Volvo thrashing' meet?
B, A 'show Isaac Britain's beautiful countryside' meet?
C, A 'show Isaac Britain's heritage and culture' meet?
D, A 'Bollocks to Isaac, I wanna go to the Pod again' meet?
E, Another type of meet alltogether?
Chesh's, if available, is a good place for A
Up here in Derbyshire, or over at Griz's is a good place for B
London, York, Lincoln etc are all suitable for C
Santa Pod/Chesh's for D
etc

B (again)
Thou i think it should be changed to "A 'show Isaac Britain's beautiful countryside at speed' meet?

Unfortunately I may not be able to attend as it's my son's birthday on the Monday and the party we were going to hold on the Sunday may have to be held on the Saturday instead.
You lot go ahead and organize a meet, and I'll make it if I can.

Loads of pressure here eh? I'm really good with either so long as I don't go broke trying to get to Chesh's house if we did that. Of course the London route is by far the most convenient for me, but I've no idea where Chesh really is, so you lot will have to educate me on said subject.
In reality I'm up for many things, which doesn't help narrow things down, though Santa Pod would be badass. From a time standpoint, this could take up a day, but really no longer than that. Maybe be a Sat afternoon, Sun morning wake up still drunk thing.

Easy to get to chesh's from London, looking at trains. Santa pod is a good idea but after checking out their calender, its is a bike only rwyb day.

hmm , just a thought - ill hopefully have an entry to a sprint that day , so anythings possible - but if i do get an entry , then i shall be going to that - not to london - since on the 14th im going to twickers to watch the rugby .
i think london is a bad idea for a meet .

Ill post again in here, but as most of you probly know already, if its london, im out, if it ends up like an se meet (far too much drinking at chesh's) then count me out. Sorry guys

The train fare return to Bedford ought to be less than £20 return, which is less than most of us will have to spend on fuel :)
I think Bedford holds way more possibilities for fun, Volvo related or otherwise. I probably couldn't do an overnighter, looking at the dates, and I don't drink even if I did...anyway, there aren't enough noisy asses like Kenny in this country to make a SE-esque partay :-D
Anyway, down to the serious business...what euro parts are you gonna smuggle home Mr B?
cheers

Whatever fits in my backpack and doesn't look like a bomb. That's a very good idea. Might as well have a memento. H cam maybe?

Well i own a Motorbike so no worries to me!!!!
I'm sure i could let you all borrow the ped of love to run up the strip. 1/4 mile time for that would be interesting. i wonder if the display does over 60seconds?

HAHA! Awesome!
I don't know if anyone has a H cam 'in stock', but I'll do my damnest to find one for you. A K would be easier, and an A dead easy, especially un-slotted.

Excellent. I've already got a K, so that's out of the question, but an A might be doable for the right price. The H of course is far preferred due to the insanity factor.

H...to be honest, you'll be lucky. I think I can say definitely for an A, especially if slotting isn't a problem.

04-30-2005, 12:34 PM
Yeah I've practically grown up there it's my local track.
It's not as well organised as the pod, nor is it as well prepped, in fact the new grip juice they're using doesn't seem to be working very well, but that is probably a good thing as I think the last trip to the pod the track was a bit too grippy for the relatively underpowered volvo's.
I'd be up for a trip to shakey, even if it's just to my caravan hasn't been vandalised over the winter.

Kenny just turned me onto an idea I can't believe I didn't think of. How easily could I get a 531 head over there? I heard I could probably pull one for next to nothing on account of the cars themselves being worthless over there. Sure it's a fairly heavy item, but I could always box it up and bring it with me.

Hurry up and decide what you are doing!!!
After prolonged negotiation with 'the trouble and strife', I am free from about 3pm on Sat and must be back for 08.30 on Sun.
I could therefore be at Chesh's at about 4.30pm on the Sat and either head back late that night, or stay over and leave at 07.15ish on Sun.
This is all assuming that my company is desired, of course...............

I'm sure it will be.
Chesh, any joy of whether we can stop over?
foggyjames
05-03-2005, 01:14 PM
A 531 should be achievable. I think Chesh may even have a couple on the shelf, but it'd probably be cheaper to find one on a scrapper.
I'm down for whatever...but will hopefully be pimping a surprise :)
cheers

Right fine to crash out at mine Saturday night, So we can go to the pub and do some hard core drinking in the afternoon/evening without no worries.
as for 531's on the shelf i don't have any at the moment. I'm trying to keep my stock levels down. But we can go to a volvo yard and we can help issac pull whatever he wants.
Probably be needing to kick you all out sometime before 11ish in the morning on Sunday as i'm probably going to Ipswich Quattro styley to see the Golf i've been working on at the VW show.
Issac have you left yet??

Well i have made contact with Isaac, i believe he's gonna be in bedford for around 3pm. He'll give me a bell when he's just boarding the train in london.
So any ideas when the rest of you lot are going to decend on my place??
I've got some crap to do in the morning so let me know when you were thinking of decending.
Also one of my local pubs is still shut cos they can't find anybody to run it and they havent got any beer, so i'll have to scout another pub for us to do some drinking in.
foggyjames

I think Rupert is leaving Derby at 3, and judging by the way my car is running following the carb swap, I'll be a passenger in his car :( We're coming back in the evening too, albeit late.
I'll bring a 531 and your 240 ignition stuff with me Mr Chesh.
cheers
