Wastegate

Hello all.
I am new here and I have a question for all of you Volvo experts here. I am researching and looking at building my own mbc and hooking it up. My question is where is the wastegate hose that is needed to be "T" in the process of hooking up the mbc. I have a 1990 740 turbo IC. Any pics of the wastegate and where it is compared to the turbo or engine or car cutout pics would be helpful. Thank you all in advance.

Here you go... took me a little while to make them up. Now I' no artist, or photographer (or speller), but I hope that everyone can use these pics to some benifit. If any of my lables are wrong please let me know, and I will fix them.

ok from reading that you get the general idea of what the G-valve does and what a bleed does, and how they hook into the turbo/waste gate control system.

the "intake manifold" in gus' illistrations is going to be the 'pressure line from turbo' in mine, Oh and WG is wastegate actuator.

Umm... I looked at all the pictures but my engine does not look like that.
Is the wastegate near the air filter box like on the last picture on the 740 volvo? Thank you for your reply. I am one step further to figuring this out so I can give my baby a little boost.

there is a nipple that comes off the turbo, it has a right angle and is threadded on, that is the 'turbo nipple' it sends the vaccuume signal to the wastegate. The wastegate is the can shaped thing with the rod attached to it on the underside of the turbo. You want your boost controller between the turbo nipple and the wastegate.

I am very pleased to say that I have figured out where the waste gate is. Thank you very much Infector 944. With your help I finaly got the answer to my question that had been bugging me. I am going to install my mbc as soon as I get my air/fuel gauage and my boost guage. Again, Thank you very much.

Oh I wont. I am only going to put it up to 10 psi 11 at max. No 17psi or 20 psi for me. I don't have the money to get a new engine right now :-D
