Last night I spent about an hour and half pulling the B23F + M46 out of my GT. went smoothly and faster than I had thought. Tonight I plan on swapping the intake, wiring harness (and rewiring), head, and other tidbits to the original GT B21F 9.5CR engine and hopefully mounting it to my sweet M47 heck, If I'm fast enough I could probably drop her in tonight. well. .I'll have pics tomorrow! oh the best part for how low my GT is, the rear end is tilted just right so that the drive shaft is a straight line to the tranny.

freaken A more setbacks. the rear mainseal was being a bitch to get in. let my dad try and ended up bending it to hell. I guess I'll just borrow the tool from work next week.

ok no pics this time either... just an update!

IT PLUS TEE-ING RUNS!!!!!!!!!
just tonight got the tranny mounted, got the engine all wired up and running. I have yet to do some plumbing for the breather system, and mount the alternator.

I am so curious as to how much power I should be looking at.. my bro did a mystery port job on the '398 head. my next project would be 3" exhaust and custom turbo header, but thats a couple years down the road.

I'll have pics next time. and next time which should be Monday evening. I'll have it done and ready for a test drive!

Awesome, nice work! cant wait to see it in July or later this month!
What kind of boost are you going to be pushing!?
My stock B21FT @ 6psi put 122hp and 155ftlbs to the wheels.

hmmm.. i don't know what to expect!!!!!
but I think 5 PSI to start off with.

Nice. I would imagine u will be putting probably 160 to the wheels with 5psi. Very rough guess there.
That 2 point increase in compression should be nice!

What fuel system?

What fuel system?

Its not stock to the car(k-jet) I had an '84 B23F in there for a couple years and used its LH 2.0 which is still in there. I will Megasquirt later on.

the oil feed tee looks scary, is there anyway you could shorten that pipe thats sticking straight out? brass has been known to fail on the +T cars ending the turbo and the motor...

looks good though. good luck with the k-jet +t, although you should be safe with 5psi. now finish her up and shut the anti-m47 folks up :-P

I'm confused, how does the brass fail?

k-Jet? I'm running LH 2.0. and the M47 feels really nice with my ghetto short shifter.

Eventually it cracks and splits in half. Happened to me about a year and a half ago, and I know John (aspirator) had a big disaster with it. Fortunately, it was sitting in the driveway (Mayday's driveway) idling with the hood open, so he saw the oil fountain immediately and I shut it down. I'd suggest making a braided stainless steel feed out of aeroquip lines- much more failsafe. The brass should hold for a while, but I won't make any guaruntees... Nice job overall with the +T though, i'm glad i finally get to see some pictures!

Took her for a test drive today. not as much power as I wished it would have at 7PSI, so good news, no oil leaks as of yet, and no detonation! the M47 seems to be very smooth at shifting. Things left to do:
finish the exhaust, install oil cooler, finishing the wireing and reverse lockout.

but very dissappointed on the power... the B23F kicked alot more ass it seemed. or maybe I just need to fiddle with it more. I think I have to retune the AMM, since I had it tuned with the wrong coolant sensor and tuned for N/A without a ported head.. who knows.

Re-do the oil feed before it's too late.

Driving the GT again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the exhaust is temporary and ghetto.
the oil feed remains the same.. I don't understand whats wrong with a brass tube to a brass T and a brass elbow, and two brass fittings for the oil pressure sender, and turbo oil feed. It would be great if somebody could tell me what happens to the brass? does it get too hot from the oil and crack?? I am running an oil cooler too. should I switch these fitting out for galvinized steel or stainless steel piping?

other then that, the car is a blast. At 6PSI, she seems to be fun, and a little bit more power than the B23F N/A the oil pressure seems to hover around 19PSI to 40PSI when hot idle/driving.

Eventually the engine vibration puts enough stress on the brass and it cracks. It takes a while (5-6 months in my experience), but happens repeatedly.

Well now that she is insured I drove her on some surface streets.. and downlow not much power, still able to make wheel spin.. but I suspect that is caused from the pre 90 exhaust turbo manifold. Perhaps I will ask my bro for his second one. I need an actual exhaust system. I raced this C70 from a stop light, and took him. got a full car length and a half ahead of him.
but oh man. the power above 4k is pretty sweet. the car goes from feeling bulky and heavy to light as a feather and it just MOVES. Impresses me. ALOT. this is at ~ 5 PSi too.. hmm my bro even has spare EZK and green tops and suck. he's got enough stuff to make 2 more EZK LH 2.1 systems from '84 760 turbo. And my bro finally got his beast running! its pretty damn impressive, though something is wrong. its somehow boosting at idle. or seems like it. when he revs up the Big ol' .60/.63 Turbo sounds like a hurraciane, being spooled by the IPD turbo bump stick, and the B23FT block is solid. :)

well, I had changed the brass tubing and T out for 304 Stainless Steel. As the Brass was allready starting to leak oil. stupid brass.
I also shortened up the tube from the block to about an inch and 1/4. hopefully stainless will hold up better.
