Here are some definitions that I can think of off the top of my head, feel free to add any others you use:
LOL = Laughing Outloud
ROFL = Rolling On Floor Laughing
IM = Instant Message (like AIM)
PM = (board) Private Message
IMO = In My Opinion
IMHO = In My Honest Opinion
IIRC = If I Remember Correctly
IB* = I Bet <something> (usually sillyness)

PITA = PAIN IN THE ASS
DIY = DO IT YOURSELF
KISS (principle) = KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID

BenchRacing means all talk, no real go/basis/reality. A disease that many of us fall to. I'm sure there are those with more colorful definitions.

Yeah he smoked the competition with probably the funniest post I have ever read on turbobricks.
To bad the search function on the old board is so random and so useless or a post a link....

I always thought IMHO was In My Humble Opinion. And IMNSHO if you're feeling full of yerself.
Also - BTW "By The Way", JK "Just Kidding"
my personal fav LMFAO - Laughing My Farking Ass Off
took me forever to figger out IIRC. International Internet Radio Conference? Insanely Intense Rectal Control? I just always said AFAIK.
Somebody needs to make up an acronym about Kenny.
boostdemon
12-04-2002, 07:48 PM
yeah you may be right, about Humble rather then Honest... we should all boycot and just use IMO :wink:
TPAK = Tried Pulling A Kenny (in reference to jerry rigging something or retro fitting something from another car or appliance)

Usually the "appliance" is a washer/dryer, and the part used is the flat sides for patching up rusted floors.
What you should really do is fit a lawnmower throttle control with the picture of a rabbit on one side and a turtle on the other, for "high" boost and "low" boost. :lol:

[quote:05d13188f5]Usually the "appliance" is a washer/dryer[/quote:05d13188f5]
washer was what i was thinking about, you can use the water temp switches for activating things like a fan at about 170 deg. (used for the hot/cold cycle switch)
best stop here or this will end up a performance thread ! lol
gtlover
12-05-2002, 02:45 PM
Don't even tempt me with using lawn mower parts - that's where I started working on engines. But...hmmm...you could rig the throttle control up to something like a heater control valve pressed into service as a g-valve and...
Are we giving you bad ideas, Kenny?
Oh, and another acronym - DEGT - Don't Even Go There.
BTW, I'd like to use that at some GTG halfway to BFE, right about the time they start talking about that "arsepit" comment.

Oh this. run a dual stage mbc, and use some push button on/off switches and set them up so the shifter hits em. Idea is that you set it to low setting (for traction) in first and when you hit second gear, the shifter hits the button and viola your at high boost.
Ok, back to topic. This is one I'm sure we all know
God Da** son of a B****, piece of S***, no good .... which ends up looking like a string of these @*$(8 !(!)@ @()(!* )*(!)@ and so on. That means something really bad happened.
Oh ya, when your at that point don't slam you car door in anger, like I did. Breaks the glass.

just expanding on doug's profanity. things I am wont to say just before imbedding a 15mm wrench in the garage wall in abject frustration.
or the guy at the gas station the other day, who managed to bust the window glass in his 245 closing the door normally. dunno how he did it, but he had some "colorful metaphors".
I think I'll do my dsmbc with an aircraft style toggle, with a big, red, safety cover - labled "afterburner" or something like that. or just the "go baby go" switch on the shifter.
Oh yeah, that's a couple more acronyms for the FAQ - MBC and AIC
I suppose you could put DSM in there for the folks who don't speak japanese.

Oh this. run a dual stage mbc, and use some push button on/off switches and set them up so the shifter hits em.
Then wire up a contact switch to the reverse lockout so you can grab second, pull the ring, and shoot the NOS!!
SquareD
12-06-2002, 04:07 PM
or you could move the od switch somewhere else and use the button on the knob :idea:
