This seems most appropriate for this subsection because it will only affect MS'rs, really.

I was driving along today and heard a pop and then my idle went from a steady 1000 to 3500. Not good. Pulled it over and diagnosed.

Turns out that one of my injector boss fillers popped out.

I have an MS'ed B21FT. I plugged the KJet injector holes with dimes (they fit down into the hole, whereas nickels only cover the top) and JB-Weld. It was holding fine for quite some time. The #2 plug came out today, though.

So as a warning to anyone who wants to take the cheap way out and use the coin-and-JB method, keep a spare 40 cents and a JB-Weld Quickstick in the glovebox.

I have reapplied a dime and some JB, and it's running fine again. Somewhere down the road, I need to tap those holes and put in a bolt (ick--metal particles) or swap to a later head. But for now, this is my preferred method.

Some folks have suggested keeping the KJet injectors as long as the o-rings are new. That would probably work. I used the JB-Weld method because one of my injector holders broke when I was removing them.

So this is just an FYI. Coins and JB-Weld are probably not the best long-term solution. One of mine only held for a month.

FYI, I used 5/8(?) pipe plugs and RTV, they fit nicely in the KJet holders. Then I broke my sh!t and bought a B230FT. :badboy:

I think the key is to use the KJet holders, whether you leave the injectors in or plug the holders with something like you did.

That said, I was surprised that this happened. JB-Weld says that you can fix cracks in engine blocks with it. I would think that it would hold up to the heat and stay adhered. I'm still gonna run like this for a while, so we'll see how the others fair.

BTW, I used the 4-minute JB-Weld instead of the standard stuff on my first try. To re-plug the hole I just blew, I used JB-Weld Quickstick, which is a putty that you mix, not a liquid that you mix. Only time will tell which is better.

jb weld will fix a vw air cooled block you just have to reaply it every 3 mo

You can allways use small freeze plugs to cover those k-jet injector holes.

I have had a head done like that and it didn't mind high pressures even with carb and firing in intake manifold sometimes.

You should probably use the slow JB Weld. I tried JBQwik for something or other, and it didn't hold very long. The real stuff works very good, though.
Also, you should clean out that hole real good with some kind of solvent like acetone. Adhesives really do prefer clean surfaces.
